Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. This year, the advent calendar is going to be homemade. Paints, ribbons and eager little hands are already waiting at the kitchen table. Only the basic shape is missing. These wooden craft triangles are made for exactly that. They are equilateral plywood triangles with rounded corners and two small holes for threading. A plain cutout becomes a hanging decoration, a label or part of a garland – just as you imagine it.
What changes for you
- You can hang up your creations straight away, with no drilling. The two pre-cut holes in the corners are 3 mm in diameter each.
- You can design each triangle exactly the way you like. The wood is unfinished, so you can paint it, stick things on it, varnish it or oil it.
- Your children can join in without worry. The rounded corners sit comfortably in small hands, with no sharp points.
- You'll find the right size for every project. Choose from a delicate 2 cm for cards and gift tags up to 10 cm for door signs and wall decorations, in 1 cm steps.
- You'll have plenty for bigger projects too. Sets come in 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces, for example for a children's party or Christmas crafts with kids.
Why these wooden triangles make a difference day to day
Shop-bought decorations often look the same everywhere. A piece you've designed yourself tells your story. With the triangles as a base, you skip the sawing and sanding. You go straight to the fun part: decorating. Maybe you want to make Christmas decorations, a DIY advent calendar or a garland for the children's room. Either way, you don't start from scratch. You start with a clean, ready-made shape.
Material & finish
The triangles are made of 3 mm plywood and laser-cut in our own production in Pößneck. That's why they have the typical brown edges, which contrast with the light surface. The corners are rounded, the holes are precisely placed and the finish is clean. Wood is a natural material. Colour and grain vary slightly, and small knots may appear. This is not a defect. It makes every piece one of a kind.

How to use the wooden triangles
- For Christmas cards: paint a small triangle as a Christmas tree and glue it on. Your card gets a layer you can feel.
- For an advent calendar: number 24 triangles, thread a string through the holes and hang them up. You have a calendar like no other.
- For crafting with children: each child decorates their own triangle. At the end, you thread them all into one shared garland.
- As gift tags: write a name on it and pull a ribbon through. The present looks lovingly prepared rather than quickly wrapped.
- In a café or at the market: label them as tags or price signs on baskets and shelves. They look natural, are quick to swap and always look tidy.
Good to know about plywood
Plywood is made of several layers of veneer glued crosswise. That's why it is surprisingly stable for just 3 mm and hardly warps. This is what makes it so popular for hanging decorations, garlands and mobiles. The triangles stay flat, even when they hang for a long time.
Care & durability
There's not much to do. Store the triangles in a dry place and keep them away from constant moisture. Then they will keep their shape and light surface for a long time. If you oil or varnish them, the surface becomes even more resistant.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the triangles or stick things on them? Yes. The wood is unfinished and takes paint, glue and oil well. You can decorate it however you like.
What are the two holes for? The holes are 3 mm in diameter each and sit in the corners. They are ideal for threading string, ribbon or wire. Use them for garlands, hanging decorations or a homemade dreamcatcher.
Why are the edges brown? The triangles are laser-cut. This creates the typical dark edges, which contrast with the light surface.
Do all the triangles look exactly the same? The shape does, the colour not always. Wood is a natural material. Slight differences in shade and grain, as well as small knots, are normal. They make every piece unique.
A plywood triangle is only the starting point. What counts is the afternoon at the craft table. And the moment the homemade garland is up and you think: we did a great job. Just choose the size and set size – and get started.
