Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The kitchen table is covered in newspaper. Brushes and paints are ready, and the children can't wait to get started. This wooden egg with dots and stripes is made for afternoons like these at your craft table. The pattern is already cut into the top as fine outlines. What changes for you
- You can start painting your Easter egg straight away, with no need to draw anything first. The dots and stripes are already marked on the top as cut-in outlines.
- Your crafting afternoon with children stays relaxed, with no risk of splinters. The smoothly lasered edges feel pleasant to the touch.
- You can decorate it however you like. The untreated poplar plywood takes paint, glue and oil reliably. Paint it, stick things on, brush on a coat or try decoupage – it all works.
- You'll find the right size for every project. Choose anything from a small 3 cm tag to a large 50 cm Easter egg for the shop window, in 1 cm steps.
- Crafting with a group, at nursery or at work? Save time and money with sets of 10 to 100 pieces.
Why this wooden egg makes a difference
Easter eggs you've decorated yourself are different from shop-bought decorations. Every egg shows your own style, and family and guests notice it at first glance. Hang them on your Easter tree, set them on the windowsill or tuck one into an Easter basket as a small gift. You can paint and use the patterned wooden eggs again every year. And making them is often the best part: a cosy afternoon of painting, laughing and decorating.
Material & finish
The egg is laser cut from 3 mm poplar plywood. This gives clean, precise edges that you can work with without any sanding. The top carries the dot and stripe pattern as fine cut-in outlines. The underside is left natural. As the wood is neither varnished nor glazed, it takes paint particularly well. Being a purely natural material, it varies in shade and shows fine grain patterns. Now and then there are small knots. This isn't a flaw – it makes every piece one of a kind. Every egg is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the wooden egg
- Making Easter decorations with children: each child colours in the dots and stripes in their favourite colours. At the end, your Easter tree is full of colourful little works of art.
- As a gift tag: write a name on a small egg and attach it to an Easter basket or a small present. The recipient will see straight away that someone prepared it with love.
- At nursery or school: a set of 25, 50 or 100 eggs covers the whole group. Everyone gets the same design, and yet every egg turns out different.
- In the shop window or on the counter of a bakery or café: a large egg, 30, 40 or 50 cm high, painted in your brand colours, shows from outside that Easter is here. It takes very little decorating effort.
- For napkin technique and decoupage: the untreated wood takes glue and varnish reliably. Create Easter eggs with a surface all of your own.
Good to know about the Easter egg
For centuries the egg has been a symbol of new life. Decorating eggs in spring is a custom in many cultures. A painted wooden Easter egg follows this tradition, but unlike a real egg it lasts for many years. You bring out your own pieces every spring, and over time a small family collection grows.
Care & durability
There's not much to do. Store the untreated wood in a dry place and protect it from constant moisture. It will then keep its shape and surface for many years. If you paint or oil the egg, the surface becomes even more hard-wearing.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the wooden egg or stick things on it? Yes. The poplar plywood is untreated and takes paint, glue and oil well. You can paint it, stick things on, oil it or decorate it with napkin technique.
Is the pattern on both sides? No. The dots and stripes are cut in as outlines on the top. The underside is left natural.
Why don't all the eggs look exactly the same? Wood is a purely natural material. Different shades, fine grain patterns and small knots are normal. This is exactly what makes every egg unique.
Which size suits my project? From 3 cm for small tags to 50 cm for shop windows or wall decorations. You choose the height in 1 cm steps. At 10 cm high, the egg is approx. 7.5 cm wide.
What counts is more than a piece of plywood. It's the afternoon at the kitchen table where everyone decorates their own Easter egg. And it's the Easter tree that shows your family's own style afterwards. Just choose your size and quantity – the rest is up to you.
