Why this wooden Easter egg makes a difference in everyday life
Wooden Easter eggs you've decorated yourself suit an Easter tree, a window or the breakfast table. Unlike shop-bought decorations, they are your own work. They show the colours you like and the patterns your children painted. These are Easter decorations you'll be happy to unpack every year.
Material & finish
The egg is laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood. This gives clean outlines and smooth edges that are pleasant to touch. The front has the fine laser-scored stripe outlines. The back is left plain. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. So you can paint, oil or glue things onto it as you like. As a natural material, the wood varies in shade, has fine grain patterns and sometimes small knots. This is not a flaw. It makes every piece one of a kind. The egg is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the wooden egg
- For crafting with children on an afternoon before Easter: each child paints their own egg along the stripes. In the end, a colourful collection hangs on the Easter tree, and everyone is proud of it.
- As a window or door decoration at Easter: combine a few eggs in different sizes. Your entrance looks lovingly decorated without being cluttered.
- As a personal addition to an Easter gift: a small wooden egg with a message on the parcel replaces the greetings card. It stays as a keepsake.
- In a café, bakery or at a market stall: painted wooden Easter eggs in the display give your counter a seasonal look quickly. You can reuse them every year.
- For nurseries, schools or craft groups: with sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100, every child gets their own blank. One order takes care of the preparation.
Good to know about the Easter egg
For centuries, the egg has been a symbol of new life and the start of spring. That's why decorating eggs is one of the oldest Easter customs. A wooden egg carries on this tradition in a lasting way. It won't break, you can hang it up again every year, and over time it becomes a regular part of your Easter decorations.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Keep the untreated wood dry and avoid constant moisture. Then your Easter egg will keep its shape and colour for many years. If you like, you can oil or paint the surface after decorating for extra protection.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the wooden egg or glue things onto it? Yes. The poplar plywood is untreated. You can paint it, oil it, decorate it and glue things onto it. Standard craft and acrylic paints work well.
Do I have to sketch the stripes myself? No. The stripes are laser-scored on the front as fine outlines. They serve as a guide while you decorate.
Why don't all the eggs look exactly the same? Wood is a natural material. Shade, grain and small knots vary from piece to piece. That's what makes every egg one of a kind.
How wide is the egg at my chosen height? As a guide: at 10 cm high, the egg is approx. 7.5 cm wide. The width increases in proportion to the height you choose.
This is more than a wooden cutout. It's for the moment when the Easter tree is up and your hand-painted eggs hang on it. And you know these decorations are your own. Just choose your size and quantity. Then your next crafting afternoon can begin.
