The motif is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives it the typical fine brown edge that frames the silhouette. The edges are smooth. The top side shows the contour etching, and the underside is left natural. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. So the shade, grain and small knots vary slightly from cutout to cutout. This isn't a flaw. It makes every piece one of a kind. Every squirrel is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint or decorate the squirrel? Yes. The wood is in its natural state. You can paint it, oil it, stick things on it or decorate it in other ways. Paint and glue stick well to the untreated surface.

Is the motif the same on both sides? No. The top side has the contour etching with the face and lines. The underside is left natural.

Why do the cutouts look different? Wood is a purely natural material. Brightness, grain and small knots vary from piece to piece. That's exactly what makes every squirrel unique.
