Material & finish

The cutout is made from 3 mm plywood. It is laser-cut in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia. The laser cut gives smooth edges and the typical, lightly browned rim that frames the silhouette. Wood is a purely natural material. So the shade and grain vary from piece to piece, including small knots. This isn't a flaw. It's what makes every unicorn one of a kind.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint the unicorn straight away? Yes. The plywood is untreated and can be painted, decorated or oiled without any preparation.

Why does the cutout have a brown edge? The unicorn is laser-cut. The lightly browned edge is typical of this cutting method and also gives smooth edges.

Do all the cutouts look the same? The shape does, the wood doesn't. As a natural material, each piece has its own grain, a different shade and sometimes small knots. Every unicorn is one of a kind.

Is the cutout suitable for crafting with children? Yes. The laser-cut outlines make colouring in and sticking on easier. The edges are cut smooth.
