Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The children's birthday party is coming up, the christening cards need decorating or the child's bedroom still needs wall decor. A wooden unicorn head is made for this. It's a blank that you paint, stick things on or simply leave natural, just as you like. That way, the simple silhouette becomes your own decoration.
What changes for you
- You design it just the way you like – because the plywood is untreated and you can paint, glue, coat or oil it.
- You'll find the right size for every project – thanks to a width you can choose freely from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- You save yourself the hard work of sawing by hand – the silhouette arrives laser-cut with smooth edges and clean outlines.
- You can prepare larger craft sessions without stress – because you can order the unicorn head singly or as a set of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
- Your motif stands out clearly – thanks to the clean finish and the typical warm brown laser edge that outlines the silhouette.
Why this unicorn head makes a difference in everyday life
Ready-made decorations often look the same everywhere. A wooden unicorn head you've designed yourself is clearly your own work. Delicately painted for the child's bedroom, covered in glitter for the birthday table or left natural as calm wall decor: you decide how much colour and imagination goes into it. And you can see that in the result.
Material & finish
The unicorn head is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. Laser cutting gives smooth edges without splinters. They feel pleasant in the hand and are well suited to craft afternoons with children. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. So paints, glues and oils take well. Wood is a natural material, so every piece turns out slightly different: sometimes lighter, sometimes darker, with fine structures or small knots in the grain. This is not a flaw – it's exactly what makes every piece one of a kind.

- At a children's birthday party: every child paints their own unicorn – and takes a homemade keepsake home at the end.
- In the child's bedroom: a large unicorn head 40 or 50 cm wide on the wall – and the favourite motif finally has its own place.
- For a christening or the first day of school: small silhouettes as table scatter or glued onto cards – and the invitation gets a detail you designed yourself.
- At nursery, school or craft group: with the set of 25 or 50, you have the same motif ready for everyone – and the craft afternoon starts without any preparation.
- In shops or cafés: painted unicorn heads at the counter or in the shop window appeal directly to young guests. They are quick to set up and can be reused as often as you like.
Good to know about the unicorn
Since the Middle Ages, the unicorn has been a symbol of purity and the miraculous – and it is still Scotland's national animal today. No wonder it is such a popular motif for children's birthdays, christenings and children's bedrooms. It stands for just the bit of magic that makes these occasions special.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. For use in dry indoor spaces, the untreated plywood works perfectly as it is. Avoid constant moisture. If you paint, varnish or oil the cutout, you make the surface more resistant – and your decoration stays looking good for a long time.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the unicorn head or stick things on it? Yes. The wood is untreated and neither varnished nor glazed – so paints, glues and oils adhere well.
Where does the brown edge come from? It is created during laser cutting and is typical of this cutting method. It gives the silhouette a clear outline and also ensures smooth edges.
How tall is the cutout at a given width? The proportions always stay the same: at 10 cm wide, the height is 7.5 cm. From this, you can work out the height for any width you choose.
Do all cutouts look exactly the same? The shape does, the wood not quite. As a natural material, it is sometimes lighter, sometimes darker and may show fine structures or small knots – every piece is one of a kind.
You're getting more than a wooden cutout. What counts is the moment a child proudly holds up the unicorn they painted themselves. Or the moment your party has decorations that exist nowhere else. Simply choose your width and quantity. You design the rest.
