Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The first biscuits are in the oven and the fairy lights are up. Only the window and the gift table still need a wintry motif. This Christmas moose is made for exactly that. It is a clear moose silhouette in plywood. Order it large for a shop window or small as a hanging ornament. It comes untreated and ready for your ideas. Paint it, decorate it or leave it natural. That way a simple cutout becomes your very own wooden moose decoration.
What changes for you
- You can find exactly the size that suits your space. The wooden moose is available from 3 cm to 50 cm wide in 1 cm steps.
- You can get started straight away with paint, glue or oil. The wood is untreated and takes any finish.
- You can craft in a relaxed way, even with children – thanks to smooth, laser-cut edges with no splinters.
- You can supply whole craft groups or decorating projects in one go. The moose comes singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
- The laser-cut edge gives the motif its typical brown outline. This makes it stand out in your Christmas decorations.
Why this Christmas moose makes a difference
Ready-made decorations often look the same everywhere. A moose you design yourself tells your own story. It shows the colour your child picked and the gold edge you painted on an Advent weekend. These are Christmas decorations that feel like home. You will be glad to bring them out again every year.
Material & finish
The moose is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. That is why it has smooth edges and the typical brown rim. The rim makes the motif stand out even without paint. The wood is left natural. It is not varnished or stained. You can paint it, decorate it or oil it. Wood is a natural material, so every piece turns out slightly different. Some are lighter, some darker. Some show fine textures or small knots in the grain. This is not a flaw. It makes every moose one of a kind. Laser cutting takes place in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia. Each piece is cleanly finished.

How to use the Christmas moose
- On an Advent afternoon: get the brushes out and paint the moose. While it gets dark outside, your window decorations take shape at the kitchen table.
- When wrapping presents: tie a small moose to the ribbon instead of a bow. Even before unwrapping, it is clear someone wrapped this with love.
- On a festive table: put a motif at each place as a name tag or place card. Your guests also get something to take home.
- In a shop, café or at a Christmas market: small Christmas moose on the counter or large silhouettes in the shop window are set up in a few minutes. No big set-up needed.
- In nursery, school or a craft group: with a set of 25 or 50, every child gets their own motif. You don't need to cut anything out in advance.
Good to know about the moose
The moose is a symbol of Scandinavia. Winter decorations there are hard to imagine without it. That is why the motif suits simple Nordic-style Christmas decorations so well. The plain silhouette in natural wood already looks wintry, with no glitter or bright colours.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. Keep the untreated cutout dry and it will last for many Christmases. Avoid constant moisture. If you want to display the moose outdoors, protect it with varnish, stain or oil.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate the moose? Yes. The plywood is untreated. You can paint it, decorate it, oil it or leave it natural.
Why does the moose have a brown edge? The cutout is laser-cut. A brown edge is typical of this process and it brings out the outline of the motif.
Do all the moose look the same? The shape does, the wood not quite. As a natural material, it can be lighter or darker and may show small knots. Every piece is one of a kind.
Is the moose suitable for outdoor use? Untreated, it should be kept dry. Protected with varnish, stain or oil, you can also use it outdoors.
This plywood cutout is the starting point for an afternoon of painting and laughing at the kitchen table. And for the moment your own moose hangs in the window. Just choose your size and quantity. You design the rest.
