The craft table is set. Paints and brushes are ready. All that's missing is a shape that makes children's eyes light up. This wooden elephant is made for exactly that. It's a clear silhouette in untreated plywood. You can paint it, stick things on it or simply use it as it is. It's just right for your next crafting afternoon. Use it as a window decoration, as table scatter or in a shop window display. The plain cutout quickly becomes a piece that's all your own.

What changes for you

  • You can start straight away, with no sanding or preparation. The wooden elephant is laser-cut and has smooth edges.
  • You decorate it just the way you want. The wood is untreated, so you can paint it, oil it or stick things on it.
  • Your project gets the right size, from small scatter pieces to a large window decoration. Widths range from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • You'll have plenty for group projects or shop displays. The elephant comes singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces.
  • You're holding neat, careful craftsmanship. It's made in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

Why this wooden elephant makes a difference every day

A ready-cut shape takes care of the hardest part for you. There's nothing to saw out and nothing to finish off. You can focus fully on decorating. Crafting with children, at nursery or for themed decorations around Africa, safari and the zoo, you'll have a finished result in no time. Wood looks natural, so the wooden elephant decoration fits quietly into any room without standing out too much.

Material & finish

The elephant is made of 3 mm plywood and is laser-cut. This gives it smooth edges with the typical brown rim, which outlines the shape finely. The wood is left untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. That way paint, glue and oil stick well. Wood is a natural material, so every piece is slightly different. Brightness, grain and small knots vary. This makes your wooden elephant one of a kind and is not a defect.

How to use the wooden elephant

  • For a crafting afternoon with children: everyone gets an elephant to paint. By the end, there's a whole colourful herd on the table.
  • For a safari-themed children's birthday party: scatter small elephants across the table. Your guests have something to discover even before the cake arrives.
  • In the window: hang up a large elephant as a window decoration. The room instantly has a theme, without you having to decorate much.
  • In a shop or café: decorate your shop window or counter with wooden elephants. The light, smooth plywood surface makes it quick to set up a matching display with a set.
  • At nursery or school: for a project about Africa or the zoo, every child gets their own shape. With sets of up to 100 pieces, there's enough for the whole group.

Good to know about the elephant

In many cultures, the elephant is a symbol of luck, wisdom and strength. In Asia, it has been honoured as a lucky charm for centuries. So the shape works not only for safari and zoo decorations. It also makes a small message of good luck: painted as a little gift, a place card or a lovingly decorated present.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. Keep the untreated cutout dry and wipe it with a dry cloth when needed. Avoid constant moisture. That way the wood keeps its shape and your decoration looks good for a long time. Painting or oiling the elephant gives the surface extra protection.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint the elephant or stick things on it? Yes. The wood is untreated and neither varnished nor glazed. So paints, glue and oils stick well.

Why is the edge brown? The elephant is laser-cut. The brown edge forms naturally during this process. It also gives you smooth edges that need no finishing.

Do all the elephants look the same? The shape does, the wood doesn't. As a natural material, every piece has its own grain, a different brightness and sometimes small knots. Each piece is one of a kind.

How tall is the elephant at 10 cm wide? At a width of 10 cm, the height is 6.5 cm. The other sizes follow the same proportions.

This is a plywood cutout, but it's also the start of something. In your hands, a plain piece of wood becomes a small, colourful herd. And you proudly hang it in the window. Just choose your width and quantity, and get started.
