Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. It gets dark early outside. Inside, brushes, glue and paints are laid out on the table – and the children can't wait to get started. This wooden angel in the shape of a girl is made for afternoons like these. It's a natural wooden cutout that you can paint, decorate or simply hang up as it is. A plain piece of poplar plywood becomes your very own Christmas decoration – in the window, on a table arrangement or as a loving greeting on a present.
What changes for you
- You can start your Christmas crafting straight away. The wood is untreated, so you can paint it, stick things on it or oil it without any preparation.
- Your angel fits exactly where you want it, whether as a small gift tag or a large window decoration. You can choose any width from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- You can craft with children in peace, without snagging on rough edges – because laser cutting leaves the edges smooth.
- You can recognise the face and wings at first glance, even without paint. The fine scored outline on the top already sketches out the design.
- You can supply a craft group, school class or Advent market without placing several orders. The angel is available singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
Why this wooden angel makes a difference every day
Ready-made decorations often look the same everywhere. A wooden angel you've designed yourself tells the story of the afternoon it was made. It might be children's hands with paint on their fingers. Or a quiet moment with tea and a brush. In the window, on an Advent arrangement or on a parcel, it feels more personal than bought decorations.
Material & finish
The angel is laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood and made in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia. The laser cut gives smooth edges and the typical slightly browned rim, which adds extra definition to the design. The top has the scored outline with the face and details. The underside is left natural. Wood is a natural material, so the shade and grain vary slightly from piece to piece – small knots included. This makes every angel one of a kind and is not a defect.

How to use the wooden angel
- Christmas crafts with children: each child paints their own angel – and proudly takes home a piece of homemade Christmas decoration at the end.
- In the window: hang a few angels in different sizes on fine ribbons – and the view outside instantly feels like Advent.
- On a present: order the angel in a small size and stick it on or tie it on – and the parcel doesn't need an extra bow.
- On an Advent arrangement or a festive table: an angel between twigs and candles – and the decoration looks lovingly put together rather than bought.
- For bakeries, cafés or shops: with sets of 10 or more, you can decorate counters, shop windows or packaged goods in a uniform style. They're quick to set up. You can pick a size to suit the space.
- At a weekly market or Advent bazaar: painted angels as small take-away items or freebies – a personal greeting that people remember.
Good to know about angels
Angels have always been part of the Christmas story. They announce the birth to the shepherds. That's why they have decorated nativity scenes, trees and windows during Advent for centuries. The angel is also seen as a symbol of protection. So the design also suits christenings, first communions or a comforting message.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Keep the untreated angel dry and away from constant moisture, and it will keep its natural look for many years. If you paint, varnish or oil it, the surface becomes more resistant.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate the angel? Yes. The wood is completely untreated. You can paint it, decorate it, stick things on it or oil it – ideal for crafting, including with children.
Why does the angel have a brown edge? The edge is created during laser cutting and is typical of this process. It gives the design a clear outline and also ensures smooth edges.
How big is the angel at the width I choose? The height equals the width. So at 10 cm wide, the angel is also 10 cm high.
Do all angels look exactly the same? The shape does, the wood not quite. As a natural material, every piece has its own grain, a slightly different shade and occasionally small knots – every angel is one of a kind.
A piece of plywood is only the start. What counts is the afternoon when paint, glue and a plain angel become your very own Christmas decoration. And the moment it hangs in the window for the first time. Just choose your size and quantity – you design the rest.
