Spring is just around the corner, but the windowsill still looks bare. You're looking for a design that's easy to decorate and still has character. This wooden duckling is made for exactly that. It's a laser-cut plywood silhouette. The face and outlines are already scored into the surface. All you need to decide is whether to paint it, decorate it with stickers or paper, or simply stand it up as it is. And spring has arrived in your home.

What changes for you

  • You can start crafting straight away. The face and outlines are already scored in, so the design looks finished even without paint.
  • You'll find the right size for every idea. The duckling is available from 5 cm to 50 cm in 1 cm steps. That covers everything from small table scatter to a large window decoration.
  • You can decorate it just the way you like. The wood is untreated. You can glue things on, paint it, varnish it or oil it.
  • No sanding or finishing needed. The laser-cut edges are smooth, with the typical fine brown rim.
  • Bigger projects are easy to plan. The duckling comes single or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100. Ideal for crafting with children in groups or classes.

Why this wooden duckling makes a difference every day

A design made of real wood brings a calm, natural feel that printed decorations can't match. The duckling fits in well on windows, tables and shelves. Leave it natural or paint it with care. You choose the size and design yourself. So you end up with decorations that really suit your home and don't look mass-produced.

Material & finish

The duckling is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. It's made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. The laser cut gives smooth edges with the characteristic brown rim. They feel pleasant in the hand and are neatly finished, even when children join in. The top side has the scored outlines. The underside is left natural. Wood is a purely natural material. Different shades, fine grain patterns and small knots are part of it. That's what makes every piece unique.

How to use the duckling

  • In the window before Easter: Hang up a large duckling as a window decoration. Now spring greets everyone who walks past.
  • At Easter brunch: Scatter small ducklings across the table. Your table setting gets a consistent theme with very little effort.
  • Crafting with children at nursery and school: Every child paints their own duckling. Thanks to the pre-scored outlines, even the youngest get a good result.
  • As a gift tag: Tie a painted duckling to a spring greeting or a small gift. A little something becomes a keepsake.
  • In the café, bakery or at a market stall: Place ducklings in different sizes on the counter and in the shop window. Your seasonal display is set up in minutes and looks lovingly arranged.

Good to know about the duckling

Chicks and ducklings have long been a symbol of spring, new beginnings and young life. That's why they are a firm part of Easter and spring decorations. So you can use the wooden figure again year after year. Leave it natural one year and give it a fresh coat of paint the next.

Care & durability

There's not much to do. Simply dust it with a dry cloth when needed. As the wood is untreated, protect it from constant moisture. That way your duckling keeps its natural look for a long time. If you oil or paint it, you decide on the finish yourself.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint the duckling or stick things on it? Yes. The wood is in its natural state. You can glue things on, varnish, oil or paint it. Paints and glue stick well to the untreated surface.

Is the wood treated? No. The plywood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. You can decorate it however you like.

Are both sides designed? The top side has the scored outlines with the face and details. The underside is left natural.

Why do the edges have a brown rim? The duckling is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown rim, which gives the design a clear, clean outline.

Do all the ducklings look exactly the same? The shape does, the wood doesn't. As a natural material, it shows different shades, fine grain and occasionally small knots. Every piece is unique.

A wooden cutout is just the beginning. What really counts is the afternoon spent painting and laughing at the kitchen table. And the window where spring moves in afterwards. Simply choose your size and quantity. You design the rest.
