Material & finish

The fan blank is made of 3 mm thick plywood and is laser-cut in our own production in Pößneck. That is why it has smooth edges and the typical brown edge. The surface is natural, not varnished and not glazed. So acrylic paint, napkin decoupage and glue stick reliably. Wood is a purely natural material. It may be lighter or darker, shows different textures and can have small knots or irregularities in the grain. This makes every piece one of a kind. It is not a defect.

Is the wood treated? No. The fans are natural, neither varnished nor glazed. You can paint, decorate, coat or oil them as you like.

Where does the brown edge come from? It is created during laser cutting and is typical of this cutting method. Many people use it on purpose as a frame for the silhouette.

How tall is the fan at my chosen width? For reference: at 10 cm wide, the height is 7.5 cm. The proportions stay the same across all sizes.

Do all fans look exactly the same? The shape does, the wood not quite. As a natural material, plywood varies in shade and grain, and small knots are possible. This makes every piece one of a kind.
