The little house for the nativity scene is standing, the walls are glued – now all that's missing are the windows that give it character. That's exactly what these square wooden windows for model making and décor are made for: finely laser-cut plywood cutouts, just right for your next craft project. Fit them, paint them or glue them on – and your shell becomes a home in miniature.

What changes for you

  • You'll find the right window for almost any project – thanks to 18 different styles, single and double casement, with and without glazing bars.
  • Your model looks true to scale rather than pieced together, because you can choose any height from 3 cm to 15 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • You can start decorating straight away without sanding first – the laser-cut edges are smooth and cleanly cut.
  • You decide on the look: the untreated wood takes paint, oil or glue with ease.

Why these wooden windows make a difference

It's the details that bring a model to life. A window with glazing bars turns a plain wooden wall into an old farmhouse, while a narrow single-casement window transforms a little box into a small town villa. Instead of painstakingly sawing out windows yourself, you simply use a ready-made cutout – and have more time for what's really fun: decorating.

Material & finish

The windows are laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. They have the typical brown edge left by the laser. It traces the outlines and gives the windows a sense of depth on its own. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. So you can cover, paint or oil it however you like. The cutouts are made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia, with clean, careful finishing. Wood is a natural material, so every piece turns out a little different. Variations in shade, fine patterns in the grain or small knots are not flaws. They make each window one of a kind.

How to use the wooden windows

  • In model making: glue the windows onto a nativity scene, decorative birdhouse or miniature house – and suddenly your model looks as if someone could live there.
  • Crafting with children: each child paints their own window for the shared dolls' house – and is visibly proud of their part of the whole.
  • At Christmas: fit windows with glazing bars into your home-made light-up house – and the warm glow shines through the little panes all the more atmospherically.
  • As a decorative element: glued onto cards, signs or gift wrapping, the little windows decorate anything that could do with a touch of home.
  • In the shop window or on the counter: in just a few steps you can build a little row of houses for your seasonal display – quick to set up and reusable year after year.

Good to know about windows with glazing bars

Windows with glazing bars date back to a time when large panes of glass couldn't yet be made – the bars held many small panes together. That's why windows with glazing bars still look historic and rustic today: ideal if your model is meant to be an old half-timbered house, a nativity scene or a nostalgic Christmas house. For modern buildings, simply choose the styles without glazing bars.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do: keep the untreated windows dry and away from constant moisture, and they'll keep their shape. If you paint or oil them, you choose the colour and finish yourself – and protect the wood at the same time.

Options & what's included

  • 18 different window styles to choose from: single casement, double casement, with glazing bars, without glazing bars
  • Choose any height from 3 cm to 15 cm in 1 cm steps
  • The window is delivered in the style and size you've chosen – untreated and ready to decorate

Frequently asked questions

Is the wood treated? No. The windows are untreated, neither varnished nor glazed – you can paint, cover, stain or oil them straight away.

Where does the brown edge come from? The windows are laser-cut. The brown edge is created during laser cutting, ensures smooth edges and emphasises the outlines.

Do all windows look exactly the same? Wood is a natural material: shade, grain and small knots vary from piece to piece. That's exactly what makes every window unique.

Which sizes and styles are available? You can choose from 18 styles – single casement, double casement, with and without glazing bars – in heights from 3 cm to 15 cm, in 1 cm steps.

In the end, it's not about a wooden cutout. It's about the moment you fit the last window, take a step back – and your model looks truly finished for the first time. Simply choose the style and size that suit your project.
