Why this wooden bat makes a difference
Ready-made decorations look the same everywhere. A wooden blank, on the other hand, becomes your very own piece. Crafting with children also gives you an afternoon together. And at the end, something one of a kind hangs in your window. Wood is a natural material, so the bat still fits quietly into your home after Halloween.
Material & finish
The bat is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives it smooth edges and the typical brown laser edge, which outlines the motif with a fine contour. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. Paints, glue and oils adhere well to it. Wood is a purely natural material. Shade, grain and small knots vary slightly from piece to piece. That makes each bat unique, not faulty.

- Crafting with children: Each child paints their own bat. In the evening, they proudly take it home.
- In the window at Halloween: Hang several sizes at staggered heights. It looks as if a small swarm is flying past.
- On the party table: Put a small bat at each place. Your guests have something to smile about before the first bite.
- In a café, bakery or shop: With a set, you decorate your counter and shop window for the season in one go. One consistent motif, quick to set up, a tidy look.
- As a gift tag or garland: With some cord and a little paint, you make a decoration in a few minutes. It won't look mass-produced.
Good to know about bats
The bat has long been one of the classic Halloween motifs. As a creature of the dusk, it suits the night of 31 October like hardly any other animal. In China, on the other hand, it is traditionally a symbol of good luck. There, the word for bat sounds just like the word for luck. So the motif works not only for a spooky party but also as a small lucky charm all year round.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. Store the bat in a dry place and keep it away from lasting moisture. The untreated wood will then keep its shape and look for a long time. If you want to hang it outdoors, a coat of paint or oil gives the surface extra protection.
