Material & finish

The fox is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives it the typical fine brown edge, which adds depth to the design. The edges are smooth. You can safely pick up the figure and work on it straight away. The top side has the cut contour lines for the face and details. The underside is left natural. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. Paints, glues and oils adhere particularly well to it. Wood is a purely natural material, so every piece turns out slightly differently. Variations in shade, small knots and fine patterns in the grain are part of it. They make every fox one of a kind. It is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

Can I paint or cover the fox? Yes. The wood comes in its natural state and can be covered, painted, oiled or decorated however you like – paint adheres very well to the untreated surface.

Where does the brown edge come from? The fox is laser-cut. The fine brown edge is typical of this cutting method and emphasises the outline of the design.

Do both sides have the face? No. The front features the scored outline with face and lines, while the back is smooth and left natural.

Why don't all the foxes look exactly the same? Wood is a purely natural material. Varying shades, fine structures and small knots in the grain are normal – and that's exactly what makes every piece unique.

How wide is the fox at the height I've chosen? For reference: at a height of 10 cm, the width is 6 cm. The proportions stay the same for all sizes.
