Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong.October moves in, and it gets dark earlier outside. At the kitchen table, the children are already waiting with brushes and paint. That's where this wooden ghost comes in. It's a laser-cut ghost blank, made for your crafting afternoon before Halloween. The unpainted silhouette quickly becomes your very own Halloween decoration – in the window, on the table or on the door.
What changes for you
- You can get started straight away, with no sawing or cutting of your own – because the ghost arrives laser-cut and ready, with smooth edges.
- Your decoration fits its spot exactly, from a small scatter piece to a large window figure – thanks to a height you choose freely from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- You decorate it your way: paint it, stick things on, oil it or leave it natural – because the plywood is untreated and takes paint well.
- You can also kit out larger groups, such as a children's birthday party or a craft group – with sets of 10 to 100 pieces.
- You hold a cleanly finished piece from our own production in your hands – the ghost is made in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.
Why this wooden ghost makes a difference in everyday life
Instead of short-lived plastic decorations, you put up something you've designed yourself – and it shows. You can bring the wooden ghost out again year after year. It still wears the paint you put on it yourself. And because every piece is painted by hand, your decoration has a story that shop-bought items don't tell.
Material & finish
The ghost is made of 3 mm plywood and is laser-cut. That's where the smooth edges come from. So does the typical brown edge, which gives the motif a fine outline straight away. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. So it's open to anything: painting, sticking, oiling. Wood is a purely natural material. Variations in shade, fine structures in the grain and small knots are part of it. They make every piece one of a kind and are not a defect.

How to use the ghost
- At a crafting afternoon: every child paints their own ghost. By evening, a whole crowd of ghosts hangs in the window, and everyone is proud of them.
- On the Halloween buffet: scatter small ghosts between pumpkins and candles – and the table looks lovingly decorated without much planning.
- As a gift tag or table scatter: a mini ghost of 3 to 5 cm on parcels or invitation cards – and the excitement starts as soon as they're unwrapped.
- In a café, bakery or at a market stall: large ghosts up to 50 cm stand in the shop window or on the counter. They're quick to set up. After the season, they store away without taking up much space.
- In nursery, school or craft groups: with sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces, everyone has a motif in front of them – and you save yourself cutting out shapes for the whole group.
Good to know about the ghost
Halloween goes back to the eve of All Saints' Day – “All Hallows’ Eve”. The custom comes from Ireland, and spooky figures have always been part of it. The ghost is one of the friendliest motifs: not scary but child-friendly. That's why it suits a children's birthday party just as well as autumn window decorations.
Care & durability
There's not much to do: store the ghost in a dry place and keep it away from constant moisture, as the wood is untreated. Painting or oiling it also seals the surface. That way, your decoration will last for many Halloween seasons.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the ghost and stick things on it? Yes. The plywood is untreated and can be painted, decorated with stuck-on items or oiled. Paint sticks directly to the natural surface.
Where does the brown edge come from? The motif is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown laser edge, which gives the ghost a fine, even outline. The edges are smooth.
How wide is the ghost? The width depends on the height you choose: at a height of 10 cm, it is approx. 11.6 cm.
Do all cutouts look exactly the same? The shape does, the wood doesn't. As a natural material, it varies in shade and shows its own grain structures. Small knots are normal and make every piece one of a kind.
Picture the hand-painted ghosts hanging in the window, with everyone inside a little proud of their work. Just choose your height and quantity – and the next crafting afternoon can begin.
