Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong.Easter is just around the corner and the spring table is waiting. Only the motif that ties it all together is still missing. This wooden cockerel is a silhouette you can paint or decorate however you like. Or simply stand it up in natural wood. It's made for your spring decorations. Use it as table scatter at each place setting, as a window decoration or on a country-style shelf. The cockerel works on its own or alongside other figures, without overloading the arrangement.
What changes for you
- You can style your décor exactly the way you like – because the wood is untreated and can be painted, decorated, coated or oiled.
- Your cockerel already looks finished and lively just as it is. The contour scoring adds fine lines for the face and feathers on the top side.
- You'll find the right size for every project. Choose from 5 cm for table scatter up to 50 cm for a shop window, in 1 cm steps.
- You can start crafting straight away with no finishing work. The lasered edges are smooth, so no sanding is needed.
- You can easily supply larger groups too. Buy them singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100, for example for a crafting afternoon or the market season.
Why this wooden cockerel makes a difference every day
A motif made of real wood shows grain and surface texture that printed decorations don't have. The cockerel suits Easter just as well as a country-house look or anything farm-themed. And if you're actually looking for a hen motif, this silhouette works too. A simple cutout becomes your very own piece, brought out again year after year.
Material & finish
The cockerel is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood and has the typical fine brown edge. This edge frames the silhouette and defines its outline. The top side shows the scored face and details. The underside is left natural. Wood is a purely natural material, so every piece turns out slightly different. Shades vary, each piece has its own grain, and some have small knots. That makes every cockerel unique. It's not a flaw, it's the nature of wood. It is made in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia, with clean, careful workmanship.

How to use your wooden cockerel
- At the Easter table: Put a small cockerel at each place with a name written on it. Your guests will find their seats with a smile.
- Crafting with children: Get the paints out and hand round the cockerels. At the end, every child has their own colourful bird to take home.
- In the window or on a branch: Hang it up or stand it up. The silhouette brings a spring feel into the room with very little effort.
- In bakeries, farm shops or cafés: Use it as seasonal decoration on the counter and in the shop window. Larger heights are easy to see. Sets keep costs down for the whole shop.
- At the weekly market or a craft class: The sets of 25, 50 or 100 give you enough blanks for every participant. They all have the same format, each with its own grain.
Good to know about the rooster
The cockerel is one of the oldest symbolic animals of all. As a weathercock, it has kept watch on church towers for centuries. It stands for vigilance and the start of a new day. That's why the motif suits Easter and spring so well. It also fits into any farm or country-life decoration.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Keep the untreated cockerel dry and away from constant moisture. The natural wood will then keep its shape and look good for a long time. If you want to use it outdoors or in a damp place, paint or oil it first. This protects the surface.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the wooden cockerel or stick things on it? Yes. The plywood is untreated and takes paint, glue, glaze or oil well. It's ideal for decorating and painting.
Why does the cockerel have a brown edge? The cutout is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge. It's part of the process and also gives smooth, clean cut edges.
Are both sides the same? No. The top side has the contour scoring with the face and details. The underside is left natural and smooth.
Why do the cockerels look different? Wood is a natural material. Shade and grain vary, and small knots are normal. This makes every piece unique.
Picture your own hand-decorated cockerel on the Easter table. Everyone asks where you got it. Just choose your height and the right quantity. You design the rest.
