A Stone Age project week at nursery, a prehistoric topic at school or a themed party with mammoths and campfires. And you still need a figure that shows the theme at first glance. That is exactly what this wooden cavewoman is made for. It is a clear plywood silhouette. You can paint it, stick things on it and design it to suit your project. A craft idea becomes a little scene from prehistoric times.

What changes for you

  • You can start crafting straight away instead of cutting things out first. The cavewoman arrives laser-cut with smooth edges.
  • Your figure already looks lifelike before painting. The face and outlines are laser-scored into the surface.
  • You can design it just as you like. The untreated wood can be painted, decorated with glued-on items, oiled or varnished.
  • You will find the right size for every project. You can choose the height from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • You can kit out a whole group without placing several orders. Sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces are available.

Why this wooden cavewoman makes a difference in everyday use

A Stone Age theme works best when children and guests can picture it straight away. The cavewoman simply stands there and gives the theme a face. On the craft table, in the shop window or on the party table. When crafting with children, she becomes each child's own little Stone Age woman. Every child paints her the way they imagine her. A plain wooden cutout becomes something that looks like your project, not like off-the-shelf craft supplies.

Material & finish

The cavewoman is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. She is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. The laser cut gives smooth edges and the typical brown rim, which clearly defines the outline of the silhouette. The front has the scored outlines with face and details. The back is left natural. The wood is untreated, neither lacquered nor glazed. Paints, glues and oils adhere to it particularly well. Wood is a natural material, so the shade, grain and small knots vary slightly from cutout to cutout. This is not a flaw. It makes every piece one of a kind.

How to use the cavewoman

  • Crafting with children on a prehistoric theme: every child paints their own cavewoman. In the end, a whole Stone Age clan stands on the table.
  • At school or nursery: prepare your project week with a set. You will have a figure ready for every child, without any sawing or cutting yourself.
  • At a Stone Age themed party: place a small cavewoman at every seat or tie one to a present as a tag. The theme then runs through the whole party.
  • For a diorama or shop window: combine her with stones, moss and twigs. This creates a prehistoric scene that people will stop to look at.
  • As table scatter or card decoration: stick the small sizes from 5 cm onto invitations or spread them across the table. It takes very little effort.

Good to know about the cavewoman

Cave paintings like those in the Lascaux cave in France are among the oldest known works of art. So people were already creating and decorating things in the Stone Age. This silhouette picks up on exactly that. When you paint it, you are doing what people have done for thousands of years. That makes it a good starting point for projects about prehistory and cave people.

Care & durability

There is not much you need to do. The plywood is untreated, so it is best to store the cutouts in a dry place. Keep them away from constant moisture. If you want to protect the figure for the long term, you can varnish or oil it after decorating. This way it keeps its shape and looks good for a long time.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint the cavewoman or stick things on it? Yes. The wood is untreated and natural. You can paint it, stick things on it, varnish it or oil it.

Are both sides designed? No. The front has the scored outlines with face and details. The back is natural and smooth.

Why does the figure have a brown edge? The cavewoman is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge that emphasises the silhouette. The laser cut also gives smooth edges.

Do all cutouts look the same? The shape is always the same, but the wood isn't. As a natural material, it varies in brightness and grain, and small knots are normal. This makes every piece unique.

How wide is the figure? The width depends on the height. At a height of 10 cm, the cavewoman is 5 cm wide.

The best part is not the wooden cutout itself. It is the moment when the children stand their painted Stone Age women side by side. They look proudly at their own little prehistoric world. Just choose the right height and quantity. Then your next Stone Age project can begin.
