Material & finish

The chick is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives it the typical, lightly browned edge, which outlines each figure clearly. The top shows the engraved outlines of the face and wing. The back is left natural. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. That's why it takes paint, glue and oils well. As a natural material, wood is never completely uniform. Variations in shade, fine grain patterns and small knots are part of it. This makes every piece unique. Every chick is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.
