The children's birthday party is coming up. The school's country project is all about Australia. And you still need a motif that children recognise straight away and can decorate themselves. A wooden kangaroo blank is made for this. It is untreated, laser-cut smooth and ready for paint, glue and ideas. A simple silhouette becomes decoration, a gift tag or a craft project.

What changes for you

  • You can start painting, gluing or oiling right away. The plywood arrives untreated and in its natural state.
  • Your craft session with children runs more smoothly. The laser-cut edges are smooth, with no sharp burrs.
  • You get exactly the size that suits your project – from 3 cm to 50 cm wide, selectable in 1 cm steps.
  • Your group project at school, nursery or club is quickly supplied. Sets come with 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces.
  • You are holding a neatly finished piece from our own production. Every kangaroo is made by Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia.

Why this wooden kangaroo makes a difference in everyday life

Ready-made decorations often look generic. A wooden blank you design yourself tells your own story. Use it as a souvenir of your trip to Australia on the shelf, as a motif for a themed evening or as a craft idea for children. The clear kangaroo silhouette is easy to recognise on its own. It still leaves you free to design it any way you like. The result is decoration that really suits you, not something off the shelf.

Material & finish

The kangaroo is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives the edges their typical brown rim, which makes the outline stand out more. The surface is untreated, not varnished and not glazed. It takes paints, varnishes, oils and glue well. Wood is a purely natural material. Shade, grain and small knots vary from piece to piece. That makes every kangaroo one of a kind. It is not a flaw, it is the nature of wood.

How to use the wooden kangaroo

  • Crafting with children: each child decorates their own kangaroo with brush and paint. At the end, they take home a souvenir they made themselves.
  • For an Australia project at school or nursery: the figures decorate posters and tables. The topic becomes something the children can hold in their hands.
  • After the big trip: a painted kangaroo on the shelf. Your memories of Australia have a permanent place in your home.
  • For a themed evening or party: small kangaroos as table decoration or place card tags. Your guests are in the theme as soon as they sit down.
  • In a café, travel agency or shop: large silhouettes up to 50 cm wide in the shop window. Quick to put up and easy to change.

Good to know about the kangaroo

The kangaroo is probably Australia's best-known symbol. It even appears on the country's coat of arms. That is why the wooden figure suits anything to do with the fifth continent. Use it for a school project, a themed party or as a reminder of your own trip.

Care & durability

There is not much you need to do. The untreated wood stays nice for a long time if you keep it dry and away from constant moisture. If you want a more durable surface, you can paint, varnish or oil it as you like.

Frequently asked questions

Is the wood treated? No, the kangaroo comes untreated – neither varnished nor glazed. You can paint, decorate, coat or oil it as you like.

Why do the edges have a brown rim? The figure is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown rim, which makes the outline stand out. The edges are smooth.

How tall is the kangaroo at a given width? The height is proportional to the width. At 10 cm wide, the figure is 6 cm tall.

Do all figures look the same? The shape is identical, but wood is a natural material. Shade and grain vary, and small knots may occur. Every piece is one of a kind.

A wooden cutout is only the starting point. Then comes the moment a child proudly holds up their own painted kangaroo. Or your decoration suddenly tells a story. Just choose your width and quantity. You design the rest.
