The craft table is set, the paints are ready, and the children can hardly wait. A wooden penguin blank is made for afternoons like these. The plywood emperor penguin silhouette reaches you unfinished. It is a blank surface, ready to be painted, glued or decorated. A plain wooden cutout becomes your own winter decoration, a window picture or a small gift you have designed yourself.

What changes for you

  • You can start painting, gluing or oiling straight away. The wood comes in its natural state, with no varnish or glaze.
  • Your decoration fits exactly where you want it, from table scatter size to a large window figure. You can choose any height from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • You can craft with children without worrying about rough spots. The laser-cut edges are smooth and clean.
  • You have enough figures in stock for group projects, school classes or the Advent bazaar. The penguin is available individually or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
  • Your order doesn't travel far. Every cutout is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

Why this wooden penguin makes a difference in everyday life

Ready-made decorations look the same in every home. A blank you design yourself tells your story. Maybe you are crafting with the children at Christmas. Maybe you are decorating your window for winter or adding a small tag to a gift wrap. The penguin gives you the shape, and you give it its character. The result is a decoration that suits your home, in exactly the size you need.

Material & finish

The emperor penguin is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives it the typical brown edge. The fine outline adds depth to the silhouette without any extra work. The surface is unfinished and takes paint, glue or oil reliably. Wood is a natural material, so every figure turns out slightly different. Shade, grain and small knots vary. This makes every piece one of a kind and is not a flaw.

How to use the emperor penguin

  • Christmas crafts with children: each child decorates their own penguin with paint and glitter. At the end, they proudly take home a piece of winter decoration they made themselves.
  • For your Christmas decorations: use small penguins as table scatter on the festive table or larger figures on the windowsill. Your home gets a winter motif that not everyone has.
  • On Christmas cards and gifts: use a mini penguin as a card motif or as a tag on the ribbon. Your parcel will stand out under the tree straight away.
  • At nursery, at school or in a craft class: with sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100, you have enough identical blanks for any group size. No cutting, no preparation.
  • In the shop window or on the counter: a large penguin silhouette up to 50 cm high brings your winter theme to the front. It is quick to set up and easy to swap for the season.

Good to know about the penguin

Along with the snowman and the elk, the penguin is one of the most popular motifs of winter and Christmas. Hardly any figure stands for snow, ice and cosy winter days as much. So the silhouette is not just for Christmas crafts. It works in the window, on the table or in your seasonal decorations all winter long.

Care & durability

There isn't much you need to do. Keep the unfinished wooden cutout dry and dust it now and then, and it will look good for a long time. Avoid constant moisture. If you want to use the penguin outdoors, protect it first with paint, varnish or oil.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint or glue things onto the penguin? Yes. The plywood is unfinished, not varnished or glazed. You can paint, decorate, glue or oil it, just as you like.

Why does the figure have a brown edge? The penguin is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge. It is part of the process and also gives smooth, clean cut surfaces.

How wide is the penguin at my chosen height? As a guide: at a height of 10 cm, the width is 4.5 cm. All other sizes follow the same proportions.

Do all figures look exactly the same? The shape does, the wood doesn't. As a natural material, wood varies in shade and shows different textures, grain and small knots. This makes every piece one of a kind.

A wooden cutout is only the starting point. What counts is the afternoon when your hands – or your children's – turn a plain silhouette into a penguin with its own face. Just choose your size and quantity. The rest happens at your table.
