With a few paints and an idea, it becomes a decoration you designed yourself, made to suit your occasion.
What changes for you
- You decorate the calf just the way you like. The wood is untreated, so you can paint it, glue things on, brush on colour or oil it.
- You get exactly the size you need. Choose a width from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps. That covers everything from a small table scatter piece to a large window figure.
- Your crafting afternoon with children is more relaxed. The laser-cut edges are smooth, so nobody snags on rough spots.
- You can easily fix the silhouette onto surfaces such as wood slices. At just 3 mm thick, it is light and flat.
- For larger projects, you save yourself ordering one by one. Sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces are available.
Why this wooden calf makes a difference in everyday life
Shop-bought decorations often look the same everywhere. A wooden figure you've decorated yourself puts something of your own on the table. Use it as hand-painted table decoration, in the window or as a small gift you painted yourself. The untreated plywood has a light, smooth surface. It goes with almost any interior style.
Material & finish
The calf is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives it the typical brown edge, which traces a fine outline around the silhouette. The edges are smooth and the finish is clean. Every piece is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. The wood stays untreated, so it is neither varnished nor glazed. That way paints, glue and oils adhere particularly well. Wood is a natural material, so every figure turns out slightly different. Some are lighter, some darker, each with its own grain and occasionally small knots. This makes every piece unique.

How to use the wooden calf
- Crafting with children: Every child paints their own calf. At the end of the party, they take home a keepsake they made themselves.
- On the spring or Easter table: Scatter a few small calves between candles and twigs. Your table gets a consistent country-style look with little effort.
- In the farm shop, café or at the weekly market: Used as a label sign or decoration on the counter, the motif shows at a glance what you stand for. Regional, natural, made with love.
- As a gift tag or table scatter: Add a painted calf to a parcel or put it on the buffet. Even small gifts then look thoughtfully chosen.
- Our tip for the table: The silhouette is only 3 mm thin and is easy to fix onto wood slices. This gives you a stable table decoration with a farm motif, for example for a children's birthday party or the buffet.
Good to know about the calf
Decorated cattle have a long tradition in Germany and the Alpine countries. During the cattle drive in autumn, the animals are dressed up festively and led down into the valley. That makes the calf motif a good fit for country fêtes, autumn decorations, farm shops and anything to do with farms and rural life.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. The wood is untreated, but kept dry it will last a long time. Avoid constant moisture and wet conditions. If the figure is going to be used outdoors, protect it with paint, varnish or oil after decorating.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the calf? Yes. The wood is untreated, so you can paint it, glue things on, brush on colour or oil it. Paints adhere well to the natural surface.
Why does the figure have a brown edge? The calf is laser-cut. The brown edge is created during laser cutting. It is typical of this process and emphasises the outline of the silhouette.
Do all figures look the same? The shape is identical, the wood is not. As a natural material, it varies in shade and may show small irregularities in the grain or knots. Every piece is unique.
How tall is the calf? The height depends on the width you choose. For reference: at a width of 10 cm, the height is 8.5 cm.
