Why this wooden camel makes a difference every day
A wooden camel decoration shows a light, matt wood surface. That's quite different from shiny plastic figures. In the window, on the laid table or as part of a desert scene in a child's room: the motif tells of long journeys. Yet it fits nicely into a cosy home. And when children or guests join in the crafting, the decoration turns into an afternoon spent together.
Material & finish
The wooden camel is laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood. That's why it has smooth edges and the typical brown rim, which gives the motif a handmade look. The top side carries the drawn contours. The underside is left natural. The wood is untreated, not varnished or glazed. So paints, glue and oils stick directly. Wood is a purely natural material, so every piece is one of a kind. Differences in shade, fine grain patterns and small knots are not flaws. They make your camel unique. Every cutout is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the wooden camel
- Crafting with children: each child paints their own camel. In the end, a colourful caravan marches across the windowsill.
- At Christmas: place a few camels next to the nativity scene or hang them in the window. The story of the Three Wise Men gets its travel companions.
- As table scatter: spread small camels between sand and candles. Your desert and Orient themed evening looks lovingly planned.
- On a present: tie a small camel to the ribbon as a tag. It brings a smile even before the gift is unwrapped.
- In a shop or café: with sets of 10 or more, you can decorate your shop window or counter consistently for a theme week. Quick to hang up, with no individual orders.
Good to know about the camel
For centuries, the camel has been called the "ship of the desert". It carries people and goods reliably through the desert, just as a ship crosses the sea. That's exactly why the motif suits anything about travel, the Orient and the Arabian Nights. From nursery projects to nativity decorations to themed evenings.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Keep the untreated wood dry and, if needed, wipe it with a dry cloth only. Avoid constant moisture. That way your camel keeps its shape and looks good for a long time. If you paint or oil it, you decide on the surface to suit your project.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate the camel? Yes. The wood is left natural and is neither varnished nor glazed. Paints, glue and oils stick directly to the surface.
Why are the edges brownish? The camel is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown rim, which is part of the motif's natural character.
Are both sides the same? No. The top side carries the contour lines lasered onto it. The underside is smooth and left natural.
Do all camels look exactly the same? Wood is a purely natural material. Shade, grain and small knots vary slightly. That's what makes every piece one of a kind.
This is more than a wooden cutout. Think of the moment your little caravan hangs in the window, fully painted. Every glance at it sparks a little wanderlust. Just choose your size and quantity – and the journey can begin.
