Why this wooden cone makes a difference in everyday use
A good basic shape takes care of the most tedious part of crafting: cutting it out neatly. You focus on the fun part – colour, pattern, idea. And you still get an even, cleanly cut result. Use it as a painted decoration, as a hands-on geometric shape for learning or as a component in model making. The wooden cone fits quietly and naturally into whatever you have planned.
Material & finish
The cone is laser-cut in 2D from a 3 mm plywood sheet. That's why it has smooth, clean edges and the typical brown rim you get from laser cutting. The wood is left natural, neither varnished nor glazed. So you can stick things on it, paint it or oil it as you like. As a purely natural material, each piece varies in shade, with fine structures in the grain and occasional small knots. This makes every cutout unique. The cone is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the wooden cone
- Painting cones with children: each child decorates their own shape. In the end, a colourful garland of one-offs hangs in the room.
- In model making: the cutout becomes a fir tree, a tower or a silhouette. Your scene gains depth without you having to saw anything.
- In seasonal décor: paint and arrange a few cones in different sizes. Your windowsill or sideboard instantly looks lovingly decorated.
- In lessons or tutoring: with these geometric shapes, children literally get to grips with the cone – touch it, trace it, understand it.
- In a shop, café or at the weekly market: labelled or painted cone cutouts in the window and on the counter give you a consistent, tidy display. They're quick to set up and can be reused as often as you like.
Good to know about the cone
The cone is one of the basic geometric shapes we come across all the time – from the ice cream cone to the fir tree to the traffic cone. That's exactly why the cutout suits so many purposes. As learning material, it makes geometry tangible. In décor, a few brushstrokes turn it into very different motifs.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Simply store the untreated cutout in a dry place and keep it away from constant moisture. This keeps the plywood stable and looking good. If you paint or oil the cone, you protect the surface further and give it your own look.

Frequently asked questions
Is the cone a 3D object? No. The cone is laser-cut in 2D from a 3 mm plywood sheet. It's a flat cutout, not a three-dimensional object.
Can I paint or decorate the wooden cone? Yes. The wood is untreated. You can stick things on it, paint it, oil it or decorate it in other ways. Paints adhere directly to the natural surface.
Where does the brown edge come from? The edge is created during laser cutting and is typical of this cutting method. In return, the edges are smooth and clean. No finishing is needed.
Why do the cutouts look different? Wood is a purely natural material. Shade, grain and small knots vary from piece to piece. This isn't a defect. It makes every cutout unique.
