Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. It's Advent, and the windows get dark early. You'd like warm candlelight at home, but without a naked flame. This wooden candle flame V1 is made for exactly that, right on your craft table. It's a laser-cut plywood silhouette. You can paint it, stick things on it or simply stand it up as it is. When children join in, paint a flame and design their own wooden candle, the room feels festive – with no fire at all.
What changes for you
- You bring the look of candlelight into your home without having to worry about naked flames. The wooden silhouette is completely safe, even in a child's bedroom.
- You design each piece exactly the way you want. The wood is untreated, so you can paint it, stick things on it, varnish it or oil it.
- You'll find the right size for every project. Choose a height from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- You're ready for bigger craft groups too. Order the flame singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
- Working with it is easy and clean. The laser cut leaves smooth edges that don't splinter.
Why this wooden flame makes a difference every day
Making Christmas decorations, a window picture or your own wooden candle? With the ready-made flame shape, you skip the sawing. You go straight to the fun part – decorating. Crafting with children stays relaxed, because nothing burns and nothing drips. And in the end you have a decoration you can bring out again year after year.
Material & finish
The flame is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. The laser cut gives clean, smooth edges. It leaves a typical brown, slightly charred strip along the edge. The wood is untreated, with no varnish or glaze. That's why paint and glue stick especially well. As a purely natural material, each piece has its own grain and shade, and sometimes small knots. This isn't a flaw. It makes every flame one of a kind.

How to use the wooden flame
- Christmas crafts with children: each child paints their own flame. At the end, they proudly take a little work of art home.
- As a topper for homemade wooden candles: place the flame on top. The candle looks as if it's glowing, with no fire at all.
- For Christmas decorations in the window or on the table: arrange a few flames in different sizes. The room instantly feels festive.
- On Christmas cards or money gifts: stick on a small 5 cm flame. A simple card becomes a lovingly made one-off.
- In a shop window, café or at the Advent market: large flames up to 50 cm set the scene for your products. No fire safety worries and no candles to replace.
Good to know about the flame
The flame has always stood for warmth, light and reflection – from the Advent wreath to the memorial candle. As a wooden shape, it brings this symbolism to schools, nurseries, churches and festive tables. It's ideal wherever naked flames aren't allowed or aren't wanted.
Care & durability
There isn't much to do. Untreated plywood likes to stay dry. Avoid constant moisture, and the flame will keep its shape and look good for years. If you paint or oil it, you give the surface extra protection and your own choice of colour.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the flame or stick things on it? Yes. The wood is untreated and takes paint, glue and oil well. You can paint it, decorate it, oil it or leave it natural.
Where does the brown rim on the edges come from? The flame is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown rim. It's a hallmark of laser cutting and gives the shape a clear brown outline.
Why don't all the flames look the same? Wood is a purely natural material. Different shades, variations in the grain and small knots are normal. That's exactly what makes each piece unique.
Which size suits my project? For cards and money gifts, small heights from 5 cm work well. Medium sizes suit table and window decorations. For shop windows or large wooden candles, choose heights up to 50 cm. As a guide: at 10 cm high, the flame is 4 cm wide.
What counts is the moment the homemade wooden candle in your hallway "glows" – and you know no match was needed. Just choose your height and quantity and get started.
