Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The wedding invitations are on the table. The money gift for the honeymoon still needs the right motif. This is where the wooden suitcase comes in. The laser-cut suitcase silhouette is made of untreated plywood. It's ready for you to paint, cover or decorate. It suits your next craft idea perfectly. Single or as a set: you choose the width from 3 to 50 cm. That gives you the right size for your project straight away.
What changes for you
- You design your travel motif exactly the way you want it. The wood is untreated, so you can paint it, glue things on, varnish it or oil it.
- Your money gift or table decoration gets the right scale. You choose the width from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- It's pleasant to work with and needs no finishing – the laser cut leaves smooth edges that won't splinter.
- You can kit out larger projects such as invitations or wedding favours in one go. Sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces are available.
- You craft with a natural material that feels good in your hands. Each piece has its own character, because plywood always looks a little different thanks to its grain.
Why this wooden suitcase makes a difference
A printed motif can easily look generic. A real wooden suitcase in your hand speaks straight away of setting off and wanderlust. On a card, in the window or on the laid table, the clear suitcase shape gives your travel theme a tangible centrepiece. You decide on the size yourself. So the motif fits your design precisely without taking it over.
Material & finish
The suitcase is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. It is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. The laser cut gives clean, smooth edges. It also leaves the typical brown edge, which gives the motif extra definition. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor stained. This means paint, glue and oil take well, and you decide on the finish yourself. Wood is a purely natural material. Different shades, fine structures in the grain and small knots are normal. They make every piece one of a kind and are not a defect.

How to use the wooden suitcase
- For a wedding money gift: stick folded notes onto the suitcase. The couple will literally hold their travel fund in their hands.
- On invitations for a milestone birthday or a farewell party: a small wooden suitcase shows the theme as soon as the envelope is opened.
- In window and table decorations: paint and arrange several suitcases in different sizes. Your travel theme then runs through the whole room.
- In a travel agency, café or shop window: with sets of 10 or more, you can decorate the counter and display in a uniform way. They are quick to set up and easy to recognise.
- Crafting with children: each child paints their own little suitcase. At the end, they take a keepsake home.
Good to know about the suitcase
The suitcase has long been a symbol of setting off, travel and new chapters in life. That's why the motif is so popular for honeymoon money gifts, farewells, house moves or starting university. The recipient understands the message at first glance.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. Store the untreated suitcase in a dry place and keep it away from constant moisture. The wood will then keep its shape for a long time. If you want to use it outdoors or in a damp setting, simply protect the surface yourself with paint, varnish or oil.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the suitcase or stick things on it? Yes. The plywood is untreated. You can paint it, glue things on, varnish it or oil it. Paint and glue hold well on the natural surface.
Why does the suitcase have a brown edge? The edge is created during laser cutting and is typical of this cutting method. It also gives smooth edges and a clear outline to the motif.
Do all the suitcases look the same? The shape is identical, the wood is not. As a natural material, plywood shows different shades, grain patterns and occasionally small knots. Every piece is one of a kind.
How tall is the suitcase at my chosen width? The height is proportional to the width. As a guide: at a width of 10 cm, the suitcase is 7.5 cm tall.
What really counts is the moment the couple unwraps their money gift. They think of their trip together straight away. Simply choose your width and quantity, and get started.
