Why this nativity figure makes a difference in everyday life
A nativity scene tells a story, and every figure makes it a little more complete. The calm silhouette of Joseph at prayer brings the quiet, reflective mood of Advent to your table. You don't need to put lots of effort into decorating. And because the wood is left natural, you decide for yourself. The figure can stay plain or become a shared craft project.
Material & finish
The figure is laser-cut from 3 mm poplar plywood. It is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. Laser cutting gives smooth edges and the typical fine brown rim. This rim gives the silhouette a clear outline. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. That makes it ideal for designing to your own ideas. As a purely natural material, every piece shows its own grain and different shades. Occasionally there are small knots. This is not a flaw. It is what makes every figure one of a kind.

- Crafting with children: Every child paints their own figure. In the end you have a home-made nativity scene that everyone is proud of.
- As Christmas table decoration: Put a small figure at each place. Every guest finds their seat marked with their own figure.
- On Christmas cards and gifts: Stick a small silhouette onto a card or parcel. Your greeting comes with a visible, handmade gesture.
- In a shop, café or at the Christmas market: With sets of 10 or more, you can decorate shop windows, counters or stalls in a matching style. Or offer ready-made craft motifs for customer activities.
Good to know about Praying Joseph
Joseph has always been one of the central figures of the nativity scene. As the quiet protector of the Holy Family, he is traditionally shown in a devout, praying pose. That's why the motif suits not only your nativity at home. It also works well for parish work, children's church services and Advent craft groups.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Untreated plywood stays at its best when stored dry. That way you can take the figure out of the Christmas box year after year. And it will look just as it did on the first day of Advent.
