Your child's birthday party is coming up and the theme is safari. You're still looking for something the children can make themselves. A wooden crocodile to paint is just right for your craft table. It's a clear plywood silhouette, ready for paint, glitter or patterns. A few plain blanks become your Africa decorations for the children's bedroom, the party table or a group project at nursery.

What changes for you

  • You can start crafting straight away, with no sawing. Every crocodile arrives laser-cut with smooth edges.
  • Your decoration fits your project exactly. You choose the width yourself, from 3 cm to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • You design it however you like. The untreated wood can be painted, decorated with stickers, coated or oiled.
  • You're ready for larger groups too. Sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces are available, for nursery, school or a children's party.
  • You're holding a genuine piece of craftsmanship. Every crocodile is made in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia.

Why this wooden crocodile makes a difference in everyday life

Shop-bought decorations often look generic. A crocodile you've painted yourself tells a little story. Children are proud of their own safari animal. On the table or on the wall, a painted crocodile fits right into a jungle theme. And crafting with children gives you an activity that brings everyone to the table. A plain cutout becomes a piece that truly belongs to you and your occasion.

Material & finish

The crocodile is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives it the typical, lightly browned edge that outlines the silhouette nicely. The edges are smooth and the finish is clean. So you can also hand the blank to children. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor stained. Paints, glue and oils adhere well, and the natural surface stays visible. As a natural material, every piece has its own shade, slight differences in the grain and sometimes small knots. This is not a flaw. It's exactly what makes every crocodile one of a kind.

How to use the wooden crocodile

  • At a safari-themed children's party: every child paints their own crocodile. At the end, they take a handmade keepsake home.
  • At nursery or school: put a set of 25 or 50 blanks on the table. The whole group can then work on a shared jungle project.
  • In the children's bedroom: a large 50 cm wide crocodile, painted in bright colours, on the wall. The Africa theme is clear at a glance.
  • As table scatter on the party table: spread small crocodiles from 3 cm between the plates. Your guests have something to discover before the first course.
  • In a shop or shop window: combine several sizes to create a safari scene. It's quick to set up and draws attention with little effort.

Good to know about the crocodile

The crocodile has long been one of Africa's best-known animal motifs. In ancient Egypt it was worshipped in the form of the god Sobek. That's why it's a firm part of every safari and jungle theme today. It works especially well as a motif for children's parties, project days or children's bedroom decorations.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. Simply store the untreated wood in a dry place and protect it from constant moisture. It will then keep its shape for a long time. If you want to make the crocodile more durable, you can coat or oil it after decorating. That way your decoration stays looking good for a long time.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint the crocodile? Yes. The plywood is untreated and can be painted, decorated with stickers, coated or oiled. Paints adhere well to the natural surface.

How tall is the crocodile at a particular width? The height depends on the width. For example, at a width of 10 cm the crocodile is 5.5 cm tall.

Why is the edge brown? The crocodile is laser-cut. The fine brown edge is typical of this process and also gives smooth edges.

Do all the crocodiles look the same? The shape is identical, the wood is not. As a natural material, every piece has its own shades, textures and sometimes small knots. Every crocodile is one of a kind.

Is the crocodile suitable for groups and larger projects? Yes. With sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces, you're well equipped for a children's party, nursery or school project.

The best part is the moment a child holds up their own painted crocodile and beams. Just choose your width and quantity. You can create the rest together.
