Material & finish

The silhouette is laser cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives it the typical brown edge, a fine detail that outlines the little fence. The wood is left natural, with no varnish and no glaze. So it takes paint, glue and oil well if you want to paint or decorate your little garden fence. Wood is a natural material and is never completely uniform. Different shades, fine grain patterns and small knots are part of it. They make every piece one of a kind. The cutout is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the fence silhouette

Care & durability

There isn't much to do. Store the untreated cutouts in a dry place, and they will keep their shape and light colour for a long time. If you paint or oil the fence, you choose the colour and finish yourself. You protect the wood at the same time.

Can I paint the fence or glue things onto it? Yes. The plywood is untreated and takes paint, varnish, oil and glue well. It is ideal for decorating and designing.

Why does the fence have a brown edge? The silhouette is laser cut. The brown edge forms naturally in the process. It also gives you smooth edges with no finishing work.

Do all cutouts look the same? The shape is identical, but the wood is not. As a natural material, it shows different shades, fine grain and small knots. Every piece is one of a kind.

Can the fence be used outdoors? The wood is supplied untreated. For outdoor use, paint or oil it first. Avoid constant moisture.
