Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong.Want to create a little safari in the children's room? Is a children's birthday party coming up? Or are you still looking for a motif for your next craft project? That's where the wooden lion comes in. The silhouette with its finely drawn face is made for your jungle and Africa decorations. You paint it, stick things on it or oil it, just as you like. This turns the simple wooden lion into your very own decoration.
What changes for you
- You can design the lion exactly to your taste – because the plywood is untreated and can be painted, decorated, varnished or oiled.
- Your motif looks lively even before you start – thanks to the contour lines that mark out the face and mane on the front.
- You'll find the right size for every project, from a small lion for table scatter to a large wall motif – because you choose the width from 5 cm to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- No sanding or finishing needed – the laser cut leaves smooth edges, and the typical brown edge gives the motif a warm frame.
- Group projects are easy to plan – because the lion is available individually or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
Why this wooden lion makes a difference
Ready-made decorations often look generic. A motif you design yourself tells your story. With the wooden lion, you bring home an untreated wooden figure. You can reinterpret it as often as you like. One time it's brightly painted for a children's birthday party. Another time it's left natural among other objects on the shelf. This is how you create decorations that really suit you – and not everyone else.
Material & finish
The lion is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. That gives it smooth edges and the characteristic brown edge that adds depth to the motif. The top shows the contour cut. The underside is left natural. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. This makes it an ideal base for paints, glue and oils. Wood is a purely natural material, so every piece turns out a little different: varying shades, fine grain patterns, small knots. This is not a flaw. It makes every piece one of a kind. The wooden lion is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

- In the children's bedroom: several African animals on the wall or shelf – and a bare corner becomes a little savannah.
- Crafting with the family: set out paints, brushes and lions – and the afternoon is saved, no screens required.
- At nursery or primary school: with sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100, every child has their own motif – and there's no need for you to saw or cut anything beforehand.
- In the shop window or on the counter for safari and zoo themes. Quick to put in place. Depending on the size, it stays subtle or can be seen from afar.
Good to know about the lion
For centuries, the lion has been a symbol of courage and strength, and it still appears on countless coats of arms today. That's exactly why the motif works not only for safari décor but also as a little figure of encouragement – for a child's first day at school, for example, or as a lovingly designed gift for brave little lions.
Care & durability
There isn't much to do: as the wood is untreated, it's happiest in a dry indoor setting. Simply wipe off dust with a dry cloth. Avoid constant moisture – if you'd like to make the lion more durable, you can paint or oil it as you wish.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate the lion? Yes. The plywood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed – paints, glues and oils adhere well to the surface.
Why does the lion have a brown edge? The motif is laser-cut, which creates the typical brown edge – it's part of the process and gives the silhouette a warm frame.
Are both sides designed? No. The front features the contour lines with the face and details, while the back is left natural.
Does every lion look the same? The shape is identical, but the wood isn't: as a natural material, it shows varying shades, fine textures and the occasional small knot – every piece is one of a kind.
Which size suits my project? You choose the width from 5 cm to 50 cm in 1 cm steps. As a guide: at 10 cm wide, the lion is also 10 cm tall.
In the end, it's not about a wooden cutout. It's about the moment a child proudly holds up the lion they've painted themselves – or when your safari décor finally looks exactly the way you imagined. Simply choose your size and quantity – the rest is up to you.
