Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong.Your child's birthday party is coming up and the theme is settled: pirates. The invitations are written and the table is ready. Now all that's missing is the decoration that turns an afternoon into an adventure. This wooden machete is made for exactly that kind of themed party. It's a laser-cut plywood silhouette. You can paint it, stick it on or scatter it, just as you like.
What changes for you
- You design the motif exactly the way you want it – because the wood is untreated and can be painted, decorated, varnished or oiled.
- You get the size that really suits your project. The length can be chosen freely from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- You can get started straight away, even when crafting with children. The laser-cut edges are smooth, with no splinters and no sanding needed.
- You'll have plenty to go round for bigger projects. The machete is available singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
- Your decorations look like a matching set rather than thrown together. All cutouts have the same clean shape. Only the natural wood makes each piece look slightly different.
Why this wooden machete makes a difference in everyday use
Ready-made party decorations often look generic. A wooden cutout you decorate yourself tells a little story instead. Use it as a cutlass at a pirate birthday party, as table scatter on the party table or on an invitation card. The wood feels nicer to hold than paper and looks more matt than plastic. And because you choose the size and design yourself, everything fits together in the end.
Material & finish
The machete is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives it the typical brown edge that clearly defines its outline. The edges are smooth and the finish is clean. You'll notice that as soon as you pick up the cutout. The wood is left untreated, so it is neither varnished nor glazed. Paints, glues and oils adhere well, and you're free to decorate it however you like. Every piece is made in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck, Thuringia. As a natural material, wood is never completely uniform. Shade, grain and small knots vary. That makes each piece one of a kind, not faulty.

- On invitation cards: Stick on a small machete. Your pirate party invitation will be remembered before the party has even started.

- For gifts: Paint it and use it as a tag or topper. A simple parcel becomes a personal greeting.
Good to know about the machete
The short, broad blade is best known as the cutlass from pirate stories. It belongs to the theme just like the eye patch and the skull-and-crossbones flag. That's why the silhouette works wherever you want a pirate feel. From children's birthday parties to themed parties and shop window displays.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Simply store the untreated cutouts somewhere dry. They'll keep their shape and look good for a long time. If you want to protect the surface or add colour, you can paint or oil the wood as you like.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the wooden machete? Yes. The plywood is untreated. You can paint it, decorate it, stick things on it or oil it. Ideal for crafting and decorating, also together with children.
Why is the edge brown? The brown edge is created during laser cutting and is typical of the process. It defines the outline and also gives you smooth edges.
Do all the cutouts look the same? The shape is identical, the wood is not. As a natural material, it shows different shades, grain patterns and occasionally small knots. Every piece is one of a kind.
How wide is the machete? The width increases with the length. At a length of 10 cm, for example, it is 2.5 cm wide.
