The birth card is on the table. The baby shower decorations are almost ready. Just one motif is missing to tie it all together. That is exactly what this wooden mummy elephant is for. It is a lovingly laser-cut elephant mother in plywood. You can paint it, decorate it or simply use it as it is. In a few minutes, your project has a wooden centrepiece.

What changes for you

  • You can start crafting, painting or decorating straight away. The wood is untreated and natural, so it takes paint, glue or oil well.
  • Your decorations look planned rather than thrown together. The outline and face are laser-scored, so the motif looks finished even without paint.
  • You will find the right size for every project, from small table scatter to a large wall motif. Choose a width from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • When crafting with children, there is no sanding to do. The edges are laser-cut and smooth.
  • You can plan bigger projects such as a baby shower or a shop window without stress. The mummy elephant is available singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.

Why this wooden cutout makes a difference every day

A gift table for a new baby, a nursery wall or a handmade card: a real wooden motif feels different from printed paper. The mummy elephant brings warmth and calm to your decorations. You can design it exactly to suit your occasion. Instead of searching for the right element, you have a shape in your hands that you can develop with your own ideas.

Material & finish

The mummy elephant is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This creates the typical fine brown edge. The top carries the laser-scored outline, and the underside stays natural. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor stained. So you can paint, oil or decorate it as you like. Every piece is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. Wood is a natural material, so every mummy elephant turns out slightly different. Variations in shade, fine grain patterns or small knots are not flaws. They make every piece one of a kind.

How to use the mummy elephant

  • For a birth card: stick on a small mummy elephant. A simple card becomes a greeting people keep.
  • For a baby shower: spread several motifs across the gift table as table scatter. Guests can see what the day is about as soon as they walk in.
  • In the nursery: paint a large mummy elephant and hang it on the wall. It becomes a motif your child grows familiar with.
  • Crafting with children: each child decorates their own elephant with paint and glue. At the end, everyone proudly holds their own one-of-a-kind piece.
  • For money gifts: use the motif as a base for notes or coins. It is more personal than any envelope.
  • In your shop: use it as decoration in the window or at the counter around baby and gift items. With a set of 10, 25, 50 or 100, you can decorate quickly and consistently.

Good to know about the elephant

In many cultures, the elephant is a symbol of luck, protection and strong family bonds. One reason is that elephants raise their young together in the herd. As a mummy elephant, the motif suits births, christenings and baby showers particularly well. It is also a gift idea for new parents.

Care & durability

There is not much to do. Simply store the untreated wood in a dry place and protect it from constant moisture. If you paint or oil the surface, you decide how the motif looks. It will then stay the way you designed it for a long time.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint or decorate the mummy elephant? Yes. The plywood is untreated. You can paint, oil, colour or stick things on it – just as you like.

Why does the motif have a brown edge? The mummy elephant is laser-cut. The fine brown edge forms naturally during cutting. It is part of the typical look of laser-cut wooden motifs.

Do all pieces look the same? The shape is always identical, the wood is not. As a natural material, it shows different shades, fine grain and occasionally small knots. Every piece is one of a kind.

How tall is the motif at my chosen width? As a reference: at a width of 10 cm, the height is 9 cm. The other sizes scale accordingly.

Are the front and back the same? No. The top carries the laser-scored outline with face and lines. The underside stays natural.

This is about more than a wooden cutout. It is about the moment someone opens your card or sees the gift table. They can tell straight away that someone made this with love. Just choose your width and the quantity you need. The rest is up to you.
