Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The craft table is set with brushes and paints. The club party or your Oktoberfest get-together is coming up. And you still need the right decorations. This wooden beer stein is a blank shape you can design however you like. The untreated plywood is ideal if you want to paint, cover or decorate your beer stein. A plain cutout becomes a decoration that is entirely your own.
What changes for you
- You design it just the way you like – because the wood is untreated. You can paint it, stick things on it, varnish it or oil it.
- Your decorations look neat – thanks to the smooth, laser-cut edges. They have the typical brown rim, which works as a fine outline.
- You'll find the right size for every project – from small table scatter to a large wall piece. Choose from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- You can kit out bigger groups with no extra effort – with sets of 10 to 100 pieces for craft groups, clubs or hosts.
- Your motif is clear straight away – the beer stein silhouette is recognisable at first glance. No explanation needed.
Why this wooden beer stein makes a difference
Decorations you make yourself say more than mass-produced ones from a shop. A painted beer stein at each guest's place, as bunting above the buffet or as a gift tag shows that the party is yours. You don't have to hunt for ready-made Oktoberfest decorations. Instead, you have something that suits your occasion exactly. And because wood is a natural material, the motif fits quietly into any table setting.
Material & finish
The cutout is made from 3 mm thick plywood. It is laser-cut in our own production in Pößneck. That gives it the smooth edges and clean finish you'll notice as soon as you start painting. The wood is untreated, not varnished or glazed. Paints, glues and oils stick directly to the surface. As a natural material, each piece is a slightly different shade. Small knots or fine irregularities in the grain are part of it. They make every cutout one of a kind, not a flaw.

How to use the wooden beer stein
- Before your Oktoberfest evening: you paint the steins in white and blue and put one at each place. Your guests are in the party mood as soon as they sit down.
- At the club party: write a name on each cutout and it becomes a place card. Later it's a keepsake your guests can take home.
- On a craft afternoon with children: everyone designs their own stein. At the end, colourful bunting made of one-of-a-kind pieces hangs in the room.
- In a café, bakery or at a market stall: large steins in the window or on the counter announce the festival weeks. They're quick to set up and can be reused as often as you like.
- As a gift tag for a birthday: a small stein with a personal message on a ribbon. The present comes with a second joy that lasts.
Good to know about the beer stein
In Bavaria, a "Maß" means a litre of beer. The beer stein has long been the symbol of Oktoberfest, far beyond Munich. That's why the silhouette works wherever people celebrate in traditional style: at a village fête, in the clubhouse or at a private Oktoberfest party in the garden.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Store the cutouts in a dry place and keep them away from constant damp, as the wood is untreated. That way the shape and surface stay in good condition for a long time. And your decorations are ready to use again next year.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the beer stein or stick things on it? Yes. The wood is untreated and can be painted, covered, varnished or oiled. Paints stick directly to the natural surface.
How tall is the beer stein – and how wide? You choose the height of the beer stein yourself, from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps. For reference: at a height of 10 cm, the width is 9 cm.
Why is the edge brown? The cutout is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown rim, which also gives the motif a fine outline.
Do all cutouts look the same? The shape does, the wood not quite. Plywood is a natural material, so the shade varies. It may show small knots or irregularities in the grain. Every piece is one of a kind.
Picture your guests discovering the steins you designed on the table. The party instantly looks like yours. Just choose your height and quantity – you design the rest.
