Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The craft table is ready and the paints are out. For your next project on ancient myths, all you need is the right motif. That is exactly what this wooden Minotaur is for. It is a laser-cut figure made of untreated plywood. You can paint it, stick things on it or simply stand it up as decoration as it is. This way, an idea about Greek mythology becomes a figure you can hold and design.
What changes for you
- You can start painting, oiling or decorating straight away. The wood is untreated and takes paint directly.
- You get exactly the size that suits your project – thanks to a freely selectable height from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- The laser-cut silhouette gives your themed decoration clean, smooth edges. The typical brown laser edge forms a clear outline.
- You can plan school projects or craft sessions with several children without reordering. The Minotaur also comes in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
- You hold a genuine natural material in your hands instead of plastic. Every piece has its own grain, and every piece is one of a kind.
Why this wooden figure makes a difference in everyday life
On a shelf, at the window or in the middle of the craft table: a wooden figure feels different in your hand and looks different from printed motifs. The surface has a good grip, and you can see the material. When crafting with children, the Minotaur soon gets a conversation going. Who was he, and what is the story of the labyrinth? A simple wooden cutout becomes a small piece of living history that you design the way you like.
Material & finish
The figure is made of 3 mm thick plywood and is laser-cut. This gives a precise silhouette with smooth edges, so nobody gets splinters. The brown edge is created by the laser and is a typical part of the look. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor stained. So you can easily paint it, oil it or stick things on it. As a pure natural material, it shows different shades, fine grain patterns and occasionally small knots. This is not a flaw. It is what makes every figure unique. The Minotaur is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

- In a school project on Greek mythology: every child designs their own figure. In the end, a whole labyrinth full of Minotaurs stands in the classroom.
- Crafting with children at the weekend: get the brushes out and add some colour. The plain wooden cutout turns into a home-made playing piece for your next round of myths.
- For a themed party or themed decoration: combine several sizes to create a scene with depth. Guests will stop to look as soon as they come in.
- In a shop or café with an ancient theme: a few painted figures in the shop window or on the counter get noticed. You don't need an elaborate set-up.
- As a gift tag or party bag favour: order a small size and decorate it quickly. The gift tells a story before it is even opened.
Good to know about the Minotaur
The Minotaur was half man, half bull. According to legend, he lived in the labyrinth of Knossos until Theseus defeated him with the help of Ariadne's thread. This is one of the best-known stories in Greek mythology and is still taught in schools today. That is why the figure works so well for projects on ancient myths, reading nights or home-made labyrinth games.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. Keep the untreated figure dry and away from constant moisture. The wood will then keep its shape and look good for a long time. If you paint or oil it, you protect the surface even more and make it your own.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the figure straight away? Yes. The plywood is untreated and takes paint, oil or glue directly. No sanding or pre-treatment is needed.
Where does the brown edge come from? It is created by the laser and is typical of this cutting method. The process also gives smooth, clean edges.
Do all figures look the same? The shape is identical, the wood is not. As a natural material, it shows different shades, grain patterns and sometimes small knots. Every piece is one of a kind.
How wide is the figure? The width depends on the height you choose. For reference: at a height of 10 cm, the width is 7.5 cm.
Are there quantities for groups or projects? Yes. As well as single pieces, there are sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100. They are ideal for school classes, craft groups or events, for example.
A wooden cutout is just the start. What counts is the moment a plain silhouette becomes a figure with a story in your hands. Children's eyes light up because the old legend is suddenly standing on the table. Simply choose your size and get started.
