Why these wooden moons make a difference in everyday life
Ready-made decorations often look the same everywhere. With a natural material in your hands, you create something of your own. Think of a painted moon with the name of a child being christened, a garland for the nursery or table scatter in exactly your colours. The light surface and brown cut edges look calm and understated. They suit a festive table just as well as a shop window or a shop counter.
Material & finish
The moons are laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives them their typical brown edges, which stand out subtly against the light surface. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. It takes paint, glue or oil well. Every cutout is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia, and is cleanly finished. Wood is a purely natural material, so every piece turns out a little differently. Shade, grain and small knots vary. This makes every moon unique, not faulty.

How to use the wooden moons
- At a wedding table: Scatter small moons between candles and flowers. The tables look well thought out without being cluttered.
- Crafting with children: Each child paints their own moon. At the end, a homemade garland hangs in the child's room.
- For birthdays, engagements or Valentine's Day: Write on the moons and tie them to gifts or place cards. It's a personal gesture people will remember.
- During Advent: Gild the moons or paint them white while making Christmas decorations, then hang them in the window. They offer a calm contrast to the usual glitter.
- In a shop or café: Place large moons on the counter or in the shop window. They are a seasonal motif you can set up quickly and rearrange as you like.
Good to know about the crescent moon
The crescent moon has always stood for night, sleep and dreams. You'll know it from lullabies and children's books. That's why it suits christenings, baby showers and nursery decorations especially well. You can also use it on an evening festive table or in winter decorations.
Care & durability
There isn't much you need to do. As the wood is untreated, it's best to store the moons in a dry place and protect them from lasting damp. A dry cloth is enough for dusting. This keeps the light surface looking good for a long time. For outdoor use or stronger colours, you can oil, paint or glaze the wood beforehand.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate the wooden moons? Yes. The plywood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. You can paint, decorate, stamp, coat or oil it.
Why are the edges brown? The moons are laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edges, which deliberately stand out against the light surface.
Do all the moons look exactly the same? The shape does, the wood not quite. As a natural material, it shows different shades, grain and small knots. Every piece is unique.
Which sizes and quantities are available? You choose the size from 1 to 60 cm in 1 cm steps. They are supplied in packs of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
A plywood crescent moon is only the start. What counts is the moment your guests come to the table and sense that someone has decorated with love. Just choose the size and quantity – and start creating.
