A name sign for your four-legged friend. A window picture for the children's room. A little surprise on a present for a fellow pug lover. Sometimes all you need is the right motif to turn an idea into something of your own. This wooden pug made from plywood is designed for exactly that. It is an untreated silhouette for painting, sticking on and decorating. It's made for your next crafting afternoon. You choose the size, and you design the rest yourself.

What changes for you

  • You can start straight away with paint, glue or oil. The wood comes untreated in its natural state and takes any finish.
  • Your project gets exactly the right size, from a small tag to a large wall decoration. You can choose any width from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • You can work comfortably without any sanding. The pug is laser-cut and has smooth edges.
  • Crafting with children, at a club or for wedding decorations? You won't run out of motifs. The pug is available singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces.
  • You give a present that shows you've put some thought into it. The distinctive pug shape makes dog lovers smile straight away.

Why this wooden pug makes a difference in everyday life

Shop-bought decorations look the same everywhere. A motif you design yourself tells your own story. With the wooden pug, a blank becomes something personal. Your dog's name on the door. A lovingly painted window picture. A little greeting that stays attached to a present. It's these small, handmade things that make a house feel like home.

Material & finish

The pug is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives it precise outlines and smooth edges. The laser leaves the typical brown edge, which makes the motif look finished. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. So you can paint, oil or decorate it however you like. Wood is a purely natural material and is never completely uniform. Brightness, grain and small knots vary from piece to piece. That's what makes every pug unique. It is made in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the wooden pug

  • As a name sign for your own dog: paint on the name and attach it to the basket or door. Now your favourite has a place of its own that everyone can see.
  • Crafting with children: every child paints their own pug. At the end of the afternoon, everyone proudly takes a finished piece home.
  • On presents for animal lovers: tie a little pug to the ribbon instead of a bow. The parcel stands out even before it's unwrapped.
  • As a window picture or wall decoration: painted and hung up in a large width, the pug catches everyone's eye in the hallway or children's room.
  • For dog training schools, vets' practices or pet shops: with sets of 10 or more, you can create price tags, customer gifts or consistent shop decorations. They all match and are quick to prepare.

Good to know about pugs

Few dog breeds have such loyal fans as the pug. This is partly thanks to the German humorist Loriot. His line “Ein Leben ohne Mops ist möglich, aber sinnlos” ("A life without a pug is possible, but pointless") is still often quoted today. That's why this motif makes a welcome present for pug owners. It goes straight to the heart, with a wink.

Care & durability

There isn't much you need to do. As the wood is untreated, it is best kept indoors. Avoid constant moisture. If you paint or oil the pug, you protect the surface even more. That way you'll enjoy your motif for a long time.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint or decorate the wooden pug? Yes. The plywood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. You can paint it, oil it, stick things on it or design it however you like.

Why is the edge brown? The pug is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge along the outline. The edges are smooth and don't need sanding.

Do all pieces look exactly the same? No, and that's intentional. Wood is a purely natural material. Brightness and grain vary, and small knots are normal. Every piece is unique.

How tall is the pug at a given width? The height depends on the shape. At a width of 10 cm, the pug is 9.5 cm tall. Other widths scale accordingly.

What matters is the moment when someone discovers the hand-painted little sign. They know straight away: this was made for me. Simply choose your width and quantity, and get started.
