Why this wooden moth makes a difference every day
Ready-made decorations often look the same everywhere. A cutout you design yourself tells your own story. The moth motif works in a window picture, on a gift tag or in table decorations on the theme of insects and nature. You choose the size and design yourself. So the result really suits your home – not the other way round.
Material & finish
The moth is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives a precise outline with smooth edges that feel good and are easy to work with. The surface is untreated, so it takes paint, glue and oil well. Wood is a purely natural material. Some pieces are lighter, some darker. Small knots or slight differences in the grain are part of it. That makes every piece unique. Every wooden moth is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. So it really is a wooden moth made in Germany.

How to use the wooden moth
- At a craft afternoon with children: each child paints their own moth, 5 cm or larger. At the end, they proudly take home a piece they designed themselves.
- In the window: hang several moths in different sizes. An empty pane becomes a lively window picture on the theme of nature.
- On the dinner table: use them as table scatter or as a small tag on a napkin ring. Your guests spot a thoughtful detail as soon as they sit down.
- In a shop or café: with the set of 25, 50 or 100, you can decorate shop windows, counters or seasonal displays on insects and nature. They're uniform, quick to set up and easy to design your own way.
- As a gift tag: write a few words or paint it and tie it to the parcel. The present feels more personal before it's even opened.
Good to know about moths
Moths are night-flying butterflies. You can watch them in the evening around lamps and lit windows. That's why the motif suits windows, light decorations or autumn evening scenes so well, when the lights go on indoors.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Keep the untreated moth dry and away from constant moisture. Then the wood will keep its shape and look good for a long time. If you paint or oil it, you give the surface extra protection. You also give it exactly the shade that matches your decorations.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate the wooden moth? Yes. The plywood is untreated and can be glued, painted or oiled. Paints and glue stick well to the natural surface.
Why does the cutout have a brown edge? The moth is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge. It comes from the cutting process and finely traces the outline.
How tall is the moth at the width I choose? The proportions stay the same. At 10 cm wide, the height is 5.5 cm. From this, you can work out the height for any other width.
Does every moth look exactly the same? The shape does, the wood not quite. As a natural material, it varies in shade and may show fine textures or small knots. That makes every piece unique.
Is the moth suitable for outdoor use? Untreated, it's meant for indoor use. If you'd like to use it outdoors, protect the wood with paint or oil first.
What counts is the moment a plain silhouette becomes your very own decoration – painted, hung up, given away. Just choose your width and the quantity you need. You do the rest.
