The wood is untreated, with no varnish or glaze. Paints, glues and oils stick to it particularly well. Every hat is carefully made in Thuringia, in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck. Wood is a natural material and is never completely uniform. Small differences in shade and grain, and the occasional knot, are part of it. They make every piece one of a kind and are not a defect.
