Why this wooden octopus makes a difference day to day
A blank that already has a clear shape takes care of the hardest part for you. There's nothing to draw and nothing to saw out, so you can start decorating right away. A free afternoon turns into a finished window picture, a garland for an under-the-sea nursery or lovingly scattered decoration on the birthday table. And the result looks planned, not improvised.
Material & finish
The octopus is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. The cut leaves the typical brown edge, which gives the silhouette a fine outline. The edges are smooth. The wood is completely untreated, neither varnished nor stained. So you can paint it, decorate it or oil it, just as your project needs. Wood is a natural material. Brightness, grain and small knots vary slightly from cutout to cutout. That makes every piece one of a kind. The octopus is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the wooden octopus
- Crafting with kids: everyone gets their own octopus to paint. At the end, a whole colourful underwater world hangs in the window.
- For an under-the-sea children's birthday: scatter small octopuses across the birthday table. The table shows the theme before the cake even arrives.
- In a child's bedroom: paint a large octopus and hang it on the wall or door. And there's a favourite seaside piece that's genuinely homemade.
- In a café, at a fish stall or in a shop window: combine several sizes and arrange them as summery sea decoration. They're quick to set up and easy to rearrange. You can also paint them in your colours if you like.
- For school, after-school clubs and holiday programmes: a set of 25, 50 or 100 pieces covers the whole group. You won't need to reorder individually.
Good to know about the octopus
The octopus has been part of sailors' yarns for centuries. Think of the legendary ‘Kraken’ of Norse seafaring tales or the adventure novels of the 19th century. That's why the motif works so well wherever the sea is the theme: at a pirate birthday party, in a seaside-style bathroom or as a summery window picture.
Care & durability
There's not much you need to do. Simply keep the untreated cutout dry and away from constant moisture. Painting, varnishing or oiling gives the surface extra protection. Your decoration then stays as fresh as on the first day for a long time.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the octopus straight away? Yes. The plywood is untreated. You can paint it, decorate it, oil it or design it any other way, with no pre-treatment needed.
Are the edges smooth enough for little hands? Yes, the cutout is laser-cut and has smooth edges. The slightly brown edge is typical of laser cutting and gives the shape a clear outline.
Do all cutouts look the same? The shape is always identical, the wood isn't. As a natural material, it shows different shades, grain patterns and occasionally small knots. This makes every piece one of a kind.
What does the size refer to? The width of the octopus, selectable from 5 to 50 cm. As a guide: at a height of 10 cm, the width is 7.5 cm.
What counts is the moment your child proudly holds up their own painted octopus. Or the moment your guests smile and ask where the seaside decoration comes from. Just choose your size and quantity. You design the rest yourself.
