A horse-themed children's party, a door wreath for the riding stables or a little thank-you for the riding instructor – sometimes all that's missing is the right motif. This wooden horse head is made for exactly that: a clean plywood silhouette, untreated and ready for your ideas – just right for your next afternoon of crafting. It's up to you whether you leave it natural, paint it in bright colours or decorate it as a name tag.

What changes for you

  • You can get started straight away, with no sawing or sanding – the wooden horse head arrives ready laser-cut with smooth edges.
  • Your decorations look perfectly coordinated, because you can match the width to your project exactly, from 3 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • You're free to design it just the way you like, as the untreated wood can be painted, decorated with stickers or glued items, coated or oiled.
  • You save time and money on bigger projects, as the cutout is available singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
  • You're holding an honest natural material – every piece has its own grain, every one is unique.

Why this wooden horse head makes a difference every day

Whether on a gift, on a child's bedroom door or as table scatter on the birthday table: a motif made of real wood feels nicer to the touch and looks more matt than printed paper or plastic. The clear silhouette is instantly recognisable as a horse's head. It keeps your design calm instead of cluttering it. With just a few steps, you create a decoration that people enjoy touching and looking at.

Material & finish

The cutout is made of 3 mm plywood and laser-cut in our own production at Bütic in Pößneck. That's where the smooth edges come from. So does the typical brown laser edge, which gives the motif a finely drawn outline. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. Paints, glue and oils adhere particularly well to it. As a purely natural material, wood is never completely uniform. Variations in shade, fine structures in the grain and small knots are not a flaw. They make every horse's head one of a kind.

  • In the children's bedroom: add a name and the cutout becomes a door sign that delights little horse lovers every single day.
  • On gifts: pop a wooden motif on the parcel instead of a bow – and your present for a rider instantly looks lovingly made.
  • At the riding club or stables: large cutouts up to 50 cm wide mark stalls and decorate the clubroom or your stand at the open day – neat, consistent and quick to put up.
  • At nursery, school or a craft group: with a set of 10, 25, 50 or 100, every child has their own blank – without you spending hours cutting them out beforehand.

Good to know about the horse head

The horse head has a long tradition as a decorative and protective symbol: in northern Germany, crossed horse heads have adorned the gables of old farmhouses for centuries, where they are meant to watch over house and farm. That's why the motif suits not only a child's bedroom and the stables but also makes a little good-luck charm for a housewarming or a meaningful gift tag.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do: kept dry, the untreated cutout retains its natural look for a long time. Avoid constant moisture – if you'd like to display the horse head outdoors, protect it with a coat of paint or a layer of oil of your choice.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint the horse head or stick things on it? Yes. The plywood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed – paints, varnishes, oils and glues adhere directly to the surface.

Is the cutout suitable as a head for a wooden horse? It's a flat silhouette made of 3 mm plywood. It's intended as a decorative and craft motif, not as a load-bearing part – but you can certainly use it to decorate a wooden horse or hobby horse project.

Why does the horse head have a brown edge? The cutout is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge along the sides – it's part of the process and gives the motif a clear outline.

Do all the cutouts look the same? The shape is identical, the wood isn't: as a natural material, it shows variations in shade, fine textures in the grain and sometimes small knots. That's exactly what makes every piece one of a kind.

How do I know how tall my horse head will be? For reference: at a width of 10 cm, the height is 7 cm. All other sizes follow the same proportions.

In the end, it's not about a wooden cutout. It's about the moment a child proudly hangs their self-painted horse on the door – or your guests at the open day walk past decorations that have clearly been made with love. Simply choose your width and quantity and get started.
