Material & finish

The penguin is laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. This gives it the typical brown edge, which gives the shape a clear, finely drawn outline. The top side shows the scored outlines. The underside is left natural – ideal if you want to decorate both sides differently. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed, so it reliably takes paint and glue. As a natural material, it is sometimes lighter, sometimes darker. There are small differences in the grain and occasional knots – that's what makes every piece unique. The cutout is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.
