Why this wooden cutout makes a difference every day
A ready-cut motif takes the hardest part of crafting off your hands. You go straight to decorating and have a result to show for it sooner. Natural wood has more grip than printed paper. Its lively grain makes every piece unique. That's how a spontaneous idea at the kitchen table becomes a gift or decoration that really looks the part.
Material & finish
The bankruptcy vulture is made from 3 mm plywood and laser-cut in our own production in Pößneck. This gives clean, smooth edges and the typical brown edge, which adds extra contour to the motif. The wood is unfinished, neither varnished nor stained. So you can decorate, paint, coat or oil it however you like. Wood is a natural material, so every cutout turns out a little different. Shades vary, each has its own grain, and some have small knots. This makes every piece one of a kind. That's not a flaw – it's the nature of wood.

- For crafting with children: The silhouette gets painted or decorated in bright colours. In the end, a self-made bird hangs in the child's bedroom.
- In the shop or office: A large cutout up to 50 cm wide makes a tongue-in-cheek wall sign. Use it for the coffee kitty or the team savings box, for example.
- As table scatter at a themed party: Spread several small vultures from the set of 25 or 50 across the table. The theme of the evening is clear at a glance.
Good to know about the bankruptcy vulture
The German word “Pleite” (bankruptcy) comes from Yiddish and originally meant something like “escape”. It referred to escaping from creditors. From this, popular speech created the “Pleitegeier”, the bankruptcy vulture. To this day it symbolically circles over empty coffers. That's why the motif suits anything to do with money gifts, savings boxes and funny messages among friends and colleagues.
Care & durability
There isn't much to do. Store the unfinished cutout in a dry place and keep it away from constant moisture. Then it will keep its natural look for a long time. If you paint or oil it, you decide the colour and finish yourself, just as your project needs.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint or decorate the bankruptcy vulture? Yes. The plywood is unfinished and takes paint, glue and oil well. You can paint it, oil it, decorate it or leave it natural.
Why don't all the cutouts look exactly the same? Wood is a natural material. Shade, grain and small knots vary from piece to piece. This makes every cutout one of a kind.
What does the reference size mean? The height depends on the width you choose. At 10 cm wide, for example, the vulture is 7.5 cm high.
Where does the brown edge come from? The cutout is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge, which gives the motif a clear contour. The edges are smooth.
What counts is more than a piece of plywood. It's the moment the recipient spots the little vulture and has to laugh – before even reading the card. Just choose your size and quantity, and get started.
