Easter is getting closer. The craft table is set, and the paints and brushes are ready. All that's missing now is something that does more than a flat colouring template. This wooden Easter egg puzzle set offers exactly that. It's an Easter egg to paint, decorate and then piece together. It's just right for a craft afternoon with your family. Made from untreated wood, the cutout becomes your very own Easter decoration, piece by piece.

What changes for you

  • You make your own Easter decorations instead of buying ready-made ones. The wood is untreated, so you can stick things on it, paint it, coat it or oil it.
  • Your craft afternoon gets a second stage: first you decorate, then you do the puzzle. This works thanks to the three parts – puzzle pieces, border and base – that hold the design together.
  • You'll find the right size for every purpose, from a small window decoration to a large table centrepiece. The Easter egg is available in heights of 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 cm.
  • Working with it is easy and needs no extra finishing. The laser-cut edges are smooth and clean to the touch.
  • You can plan bigger projects with ease, such as crafting with children in a group or class. The Easter egg is available individually or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.

Why this Easter egg puzzle makes a difference in everyday life

Home-made Easter decorations tell a story. Anyone who looks at them knows that someone put time and joy into them. The Easter egg puzzle combines two things that are usually separate. These are creative crafting and playing together afterwards. The result is a decoration that doesn't just stand there. It gets picked up again and again.

Material & finish

The Easter egg is made from 3 mm plywood and is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge on every part. The edges are smooth and the finish is clean, so you can start decorating straight away. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. That's why paints, glues and oils adhere reliably. As a natural material, each piece shows its own grain, small knots and differences in shade. This is not a flaw. It's what makes every Easter egg one of a kind. The cutout is made in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the Easter egg puzzle set

  • Crafting with children at Easter: each child paints their own puzzle pieces. At the end, all the pieces come together as one colourful egg that everyone is proud of.
  • As a window or table decoration for Easter: you decorate the egg in your own colours. Your home gets a spring decoration that exists only once.
  • As a small money gift with a surprise: you stick banknotes or messages onto individual puzzle pieces. The recipient then puzzles their way to an Easter treat.
  • At nursery, at school or in a craft group: with the sets of 10 or more, you have an egg for every child. It's a project that combines creativity and patience in a playful way.
  • In a café, a bakery or at a market stall: a large painted 30 cm egg in the display shows your customers from afar that the Easter season has begun.

Good to know about the Easter egg

For centuries, the egg has been a symbol of new life and the start of spring. The custom of decorating eggs artistically at Easter is deeply rooted in many regions. With the wooden Easter egg, you carry on this tradition in a lasting form. Your painted egg won't break. It can join your Easter decorations year after year.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do. Simply store the untreated wood in a dry place and protect it from prolonged moisture. That way, your decorated Easter egg keeps its shape and looks good for many years. If you like, you can also oil or coat the surface after decorating it.

Frequently asked questions

Is the wood treated? No, the plywood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. You can paint, decorate, coat or oil it straight away.

Where does the brown edge on the parts come from? The Easter egg is laser-cut. The brown edge is typical of this cutting method. It also means smooth edges that need no extra finishing.

How many parts does the Easter egg have? Three parts: the puzzle pieces, a border around the puzzle pieces and a base that holds everything together.

How many puzzle pieces does my size have? 13 pieces at 10 cm, 29 at 15 cm, 44 at 20 cm, 68 at 25 cm and 95 pieces at 30 cm high.

Why do the pieces of wood look slightly different? Wood is a natural material with its own grain, differences in shade and small knots. This is exactly what makes every piece unique.

What counts is more than a piece of plywood. It's the moment when the last puzzle piece clicks into place. A self-painted Easter egg then stands on the table, and there is only one like it. Simply choose your size and quantity, and your craft afternoon can begin.
