Material & finish

The square is made of 3 mm thick plywood. It is laser-cut in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. The laser cut gives smooth edges without splinters. It leaves the typical brown rim, which gives each piece a fine, warm-toned edge. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. Paints and glues adhere to it particularly well. As a natural material, each square shows its own grain and different shades. Now and then there are small knots. This is not a flaw. It makes every piece one of a kind.

How to use the wooden square

Good to know about plywood

Plywood is made of several layers of wood glued crosswise. That's what makes it so dimensionally stable. It warps much less than a simple solid wood board. For you, this means even large squares up to 50 cm stay flat. You can paint, label or decorate them cleanly.

Care & durability

You don't need to do much. Simply store the untreated wood in a dry place and protect it from constant moisture. Then it will keep its natural look for a long time. Why does the wood have a brown edge? The edge is created by the laser cut and is typical of this process. The edges are smooth and clean.
