The craft table is set, paints and brushes are at the ready – all that's missing is the basic shape. With these wooden squares, you get it in exactly the size your project needs: from 1x1 cm as delicate table scatter up to a large square wooden board measuring 50x50 cm, available in 1 cm steps. The cutout feels as though it was made just for your idea – no saw, no finishing work.

What changes for you

  • You get exactly the size your project calls for – because every square can be ordered from 1x1 cm to 50x50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • You can get started straight away, with no sanding or filing – thanks to the smooth, laser-cut edges.
  • You're free to design it just the way you like – the untreated wood can be decorated with stick-ons, painted, varnished or oiled.
  • No converting or cutting to size – since every square is also a four-sided shape with equal sides, it fits wherever a rectangular base shape is needed.
  • Choose the finish that suits your project – untreated, in lots of colours or with a self-adhesive back.

Why these wooden squares make a difference every day

A cleanly cut wooden square is a calm base for your idea. The shape is right and the edges are even. All that's left for you is the creative part. You can paint on it, use it as a part in model making or as table scatter. The result looks planned, not improvised. All sizes come from the same production run. So small and large cutouts have the same surface, the same edges and the same thickness.

Material & finish

The squares are laser-cut from 3 mm plywood. That gives them smooth edges with the typical brown rim, so each cutout has a clean, finished edge. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. It takes paint, oil and glue well. As a natural material, it varies from lighter to darker. It has a lively grain and the occasional small knot. That makes every piece one of a kind. The cutouts are made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

How to use the wooden squares

  • Crafting with children: paint and decorate small squares – and at the end, every child holds their very own work of art.
  • In model making: build in cutouts in exactly the size you need – your model grows piece by piece, without you having to saw anything yourself.
  • On the festive table: scatter the little squares as table decoration – the table looks lovingly styled with very little effort.
  • As a base for painting and designing: paint or write on a larger square wooden board – and you have a personal sign or picture for your home.
  • In a café, shop or at a market stall: with the self-adhesive version, you can put up labels and decorations quickly – your display looks neat and setting up is fast.

Good to know about the square

Plywood is made of several layers of wood glued crosswise – which makes it more dimensionally stable than a single board of the same thickness. For you, that means even thin 3 mm cutouts stay largely flat when painted or decorated, making them a good base for decorative and craft projects.

Care & durability

There's not much you need to do: store the untreated squares somewhere dry and keep them away from constant moisture, and they'll keep their shape. If you paint or oil the surface, you give the wood extra protection and choose its colour at the same time.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint or oil the wooden squares? Yes. The wood is untreated and can be painted, oiled, glazed or decorated with stick-ons – whatever your project needs.

Why do the edges have a brown rim? The squares are laser-cut. This creates the typical brown rim, and the edges are smooth – no sanding needed.

Do all the squares look the same? Not quite. Wood is a natural material and varies in shade, with a lively grain and sometimes small knots – that's not a flaw, it's what makes every piece unique.

How thick is the material? All squares are made of 3 mm plywood – sturdy enough for painting, decorating and model making.

In the end, it's not about a piece of plywood. It's about the moment a simple wooden shape becomes exactly what you imagined – a sign, a table decoration, a part of your model. Just choose your size and finish, and you design the rest.
