Your craft afternoon is planned and the paints are ready. All you need now is a blank that turns your idea into something finished. This wooden rectangle with a rectangular opening is made for your craft table. It has a clear, rectangular shape that works like a frame. You can paint it, decorate it or write on it, just as you like. A simple wooden rectangle becomes a door sign, a small picture frame or a thoughtful money gift.

What changes for you

  • You can start decorating straight away, with no sawing or sanding. The rectangle is laser cut and has smooth, clean edges.
  • Your paints, varnishes and glues hold well. The wood is untreated, with no varnish or glaze.
  • You get exactly the size your project needs. Choose a width from 6 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • Your results look even and well planned. All rectangles are made in a fixed ratio of 2:1.
  • You can rely on getting more when you need them. Every piece is made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

Why this wooden rectangle makes a difference day to day

A good blank takes care of the hard part and leaves you the fun part: decorating. The rectangular opening frames your work from the start. That is ideal when a name, a photo or a motif should be the focus. With little effort you create something that looks handmade, yet neat and even.

Material & finish

The rectangle is made of 3 mm poplar plywood. It is light enough to hang up and work with, yet keeps its shape. Laser cutting creates the typical brown edge that outlines the shape finely. The edges are smooth and clean. As the wood is left natural, you can paint, oil, decorate or glue things onto it. Wood is a natural material, so every piece turns out a little differently. Differences in shade, fine grain patterns or small knots are not flaws. They make every rectangle one of a kind.

How to use the rectangle

  • Crafting with children: each child paints their own rectangle. At the end, a small framed artwork hangs on the shelf in the children's room.
  • For DIY money gifts: place a note or voucher in the opening and decorate the border. The gift looks like you took time over it, not like a last-minute idea.
  • If you want to make Christmas decorations: add a motif, the year or a window picture in the opening. The wooden piece then decorates your windowsill or door.
  • As a door or name sign: add a name and a ribbon. Your guests will find their way straight away.
  • In a café, a shop or at a market stall: use it as a frame for price tags or small notices. Your counter looks consistent and tidy. Sizes from 6 to 50 cm fit every surface.

Good to know about laser cutting

The brown edge forms during laser cutting, when the cut edge is slightly heated. So it is not a flaw but a feature of this precise cutting method. Many crafters use it on purpose as a design element. It frames the motif like a fine outline and saves you tracing the edges.

Care & durability

There is not much to do. Store the untreated wood in a dry place and protect it from constant moisture, and it will keep its shape. If you want to use it outdoors or in damp rooms, paint or oil it first. That way your piece keeps its shape and colour for a long time.

Options & what's included

  • Choose your width: 6 cm to 50 cm, in 1 cm steps

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint or decorate the rectangle? Yes. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. Paints, oils, glues and napkin decoupage stick directly to the surface.

Why does the rectangle have a brown edge? The edge forms during laser cutting and is typical of this cutting method. It gives a clean, finely outlined contour.

How big is the opening, or how tall is the piece? All rectangles are made in a ratio of 2:1. If you choose a width of 10 cm, for example, the height is 5 cm.

Does every piece look the same? Not quite – wood is a natural material. Shade, grain and small knots vary slightly and make every rectangle one of a kind.

A plain blank becomes your own small piece of work. You can paint it, give it as a gift or hang it up. Simply choose your width between 6 and 50 cm and get started.

Your legal guarantee rights

EU notice “Legal guarantee”: Minimum two-year legal guarantee protection for goods sold in the European Union. Consumers can claim their rights under the legal guarantee of conformity, for example if goods do not match the description or do not function as intended. Sellers are liable for any lack of conformity which existed when the goods were delivered, and which becomes apparent within the legal guarantee period. Sellers in such a situation are required to offer free repair or free replacement; in some cases, a price reduction or full reimbursement. Some countries have a longer legal guarantee period. For second-hand goods, a shorter period may apply, but not less than one year. For more information on your rights in a specific country, scan the QR code or ask the seller: europa.eu/youreurope/guarantees. What to do if you receive non-conforming goods: 1. Contact the seller as soon as possible to report the issue. 2. Provide proof of purchase, such as a receipt, invoice, or bank statement. Sellers and producers may also offer commercial guarantees, which apply independently from the legal guarantee. For example, you may see this GARAN label representing a commercial guarantee of durability offered by the producer at no additional cost and covering the entire good.
