Why these wooden rectangles make a difference day to day
A wooden rectangle is one of the most popular basic shapes for crafts. It becomes a place card, a label on a jam jar, a base plate for model making or table scatter on a laid table. All the pieces share the same clean shape. So the result looks calm and tidy, whether at home, on the buffet or at the shop counter. The wood is left natural. You decide whether it stays light and plain or gets a colourful coat of paint.
Material & finish
The rectangles are made of 3 mm plywood. They are thin enough to decorate and hang up, and sturdy enough not to snap easily. The laser cut gives clean, smooth edges and the typical brown rim. This rim gives the cutouts a handmade look. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. You can paint it, oil it, glue things to it or use it as it is. Wood is a natural material. Differences in shade, fine grain patterns and small knots are completely normal. This makes every piece one of a kind.

How to use the wooden rectangles
- Crafting with children: paint small rectangles, decorate them, thread them on string. In the end every child has their own little sign for the bedroom door.
- On the festive table: lay out labelled rectangles as name cards or table scatter. The table looks well planned before the first course is served.
- In model making: use precisely cut pieces as base plates, walls or details. No need to saw and sand them yourself.
- In a café, at the bakery counter or at a market stall: use larger rectangles as labelled price tags or variety signs. Customers can see your goods at a glance, and the counter looks uniform.
- Our tip for the pantry: Label small cutouts and hang them on jars, boxes or storage tins. On the buffet or at the market stall, every jar then looks like a little gift.
Good to know about plywood
Plywood is made of several layers of wood glued crosswise. This makes it more stable than a solid wood board of the same thickness, and it warps much less. For you, this means that even thin 3 mm rectangles stay flat when you paint and glue them. They are easy to work with.
Care & durability
There is not much you need to do. Simply store the cutouts in a dry place and protect them from constant moisture. Then they stay flat and keep their shape for a long time. If you want to use the rectangles outdoors or in a damp place, you can oil or varnish the untreated wood yourself first. This helps the surface last longer.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the wooden rectangles or glue things to them? Yes. The plywood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. You can paint it, oil it, glue things to it or write on it.
Why do the rectangles have a brown edge? All cutouts are laser-cut. This creates the typical dark edge. The laser cut also gives smooth edges without splinters.
How are length and width related? The rectangles are made in a fixed 2:1 ratio. For example, if you choose a width of 10 cm, the height is 5 cm.
Do all rectangles look exactly the same? Wood is a natural material. Shade, grain and small knots vary from piece to piece. This is not a defect. It makes every piece unique.
Plywood and centimetres are only the starting point. What counts is the moment a plain piece of wood becomes your name tag, your label or your table decoration. With your handwriting on it. Simply choose the size and set that suit your project.
