Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong. The craft table is set, the paints are ready, and the children can hardly wait to start. A wooden rainbow for painting is made for afternoons like these. It is a clear, friendly shape that you can decorate however you like. Use a brush or glue, or leave it just as it is. The untreated cutout becomes a small piece that later tells a story in the nursery, on the window or on a gift.
What changes for you
- You can start straight away, with no sanding or finishing of the edges. The rainbow is laser-cut, so its edges are smooth.
- Your paints, varnishes and oils go straight onto the wood and adhere well. That is because the wood is untreated, with no varnish or glaze.
- You will find the right size for every idea, from a small hanging ornament to a large wall decoration. You can choose the width from 8 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- When you craft with children, in a group or in a club, you'll have enough for everyone. You can order singly or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
- You get a design with seven separate arches that leaves plenty of room for your ideas. Each arch can have its own colour.
Why this wooden rainbow makes a difference every day
A ready-cut shape takes care of the hardest part. You don't need to draw, saw or smooth anything. You can focus fully on decorating. A rainy afternoon becomes a shared project with the children. And at the end, something homemade hangs on the wall that really comes from you. As decoration, the rainbow looks calm and natural too. The wood stays in its natural state until you make it your own.
Material & finish
The rainbow is made from 3 mm plywood. It is laser-cut in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. The laser cut gives smooth edges and leaves the typical brown edge, which shows that the piece is handmade. The wood is untreated. You can cover it, paint it, oil it or leave it natural. Wood is a natural material, so it can turn out lighter or darker. It may show small knots or differences in the grain. That makes every piece unique. It is not a flaw but part of the wood.

How to use your wooden rainbow
- Crafting with children: each child paints their own arch. At the end of the afternoon, everyone proudly holds their own little work of art.
- In the nursery: a large rainbow above the bed or on the shelf. The room instantly has a cheerful motif that grows with your child.
- For money gifts: fan out banknotes behind the arches and fix them in place. An envelope turns into a gift people remember.
- If you want to make Christmas decorations: paint small rainbows and add a ribbon. Now you have ornaments for the tree, the window or a present.
- In a shop, café or shop window: arrange several sizes in staggered rows. The decoration is quick to set up and looks friendly to customers.
- In nurseries, schools or craft groups: with sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100, you can plan a whole project without reordering several times.
Good to know about rainbows
The rainbow has long been a symbol of hope, luck and confidence. There is a reason people tell of the treasure at its end. So the motif suits more than the nursery. It also fits births, christenings and starting school. Or send it as an uplifting greeting that simply spreads good cheer.
Care & durability
There isn't much to do. Keep the untreated rainbow dry and away from constant moisture. Then it will keep its natural look for a long time. If you paint, oil or varnish it, you also give the wood a protective surface – just as you like.
