Not sure which to choose? With a Bütic gift voucher you can never get it wrong.A window picture with a lakeside scene. An autumn wreath with a pond motif. A craft afternoon where every child designs their own shape. Often the one silhouette that ties it all together is missing. This wooden bulrush decoration is made for your next nature motif. It is a cleanly laser-cut plywood shape. You can paint it, stick things on it or use it as it is. That way, a simple wooden cutout becomes your very own piece of lakeside.
What changes for you
- You design it just the way you like – because the plywood is untreated. You can paint, oil, colour or glue things onto it.
- Your shapes always match, whether for a window picture or table decoration. You choose the height from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
- You don't need to finish the edges. The laser cut leaves smooth edges with the typical brown rim, which suits the colour of the plywood.
- You have enough material for everyone when crafting with children or in a group. Order them individually or in sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100.
- You can start straight away instead of sawing yourself. The cutout arrives fully laser-cut and ready to decorate.
Why this bulrush decoration makes a difference day to day
Nature motifs bring calm to a room. And bulrushes instantly bring ponds, lakes and riverbanks to mind. With this clear silhouette you create that picture without a template, saw or sandpaper. You focus on designing rather than on the preparation. Your window picture, wreath or seasonal decoration comes together easily.
Material & finish
The bulrush is made from 3 mm plywood. It is laser-cut in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. It is cleanly finished, with smooth edges that feel pleasant in your hand. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. Paints, glues and oils adhere directly to the surface. As a natural material, wood is never completely uniform. Variations in shade, fine grain patterns and small knots are part of it. They make every piece one of a kind, not a flaw.

How to use the bulrush
- Crafting with children: Each child paints their own bulrush. Together, they create a whole riverbank on the window.
- Autumn crafts with children: Combine the silhouettes with conkers, leaves and grasses. They become a little autumn landscape for the windowsill or seasonal table.
- For window pictures and wreaths: Combine several heights. Your pond, lake or riverbank scene gains depth and life.
- In seasonal decoration: Arrange a few silhouettes between branches. Your windowsill looks like a little piece of nature.
- In a shop or café: Use them as part of your window or counter display for a nature theme. It is quick to set up and easy to extend. With sets of up to 100 pieces, you can cover larger areas too.
- In school, nursery or a craft group: With the quantity options, you have a blank ready for every participant. No cutting needed.
Good to know about the bulrush
In everyday speech the bulrush is often called a reed, although botanists tell the two plants apart. Both grow on the banks of ponds and lakes. Both stand for water and nature. That is why the silhouette suits every motif around ponds, lakes and riverbanks. From window pictures to nature decorations through the year.
Care & durability
There is not much to do: just wipe it dry when needed. As the wood is untreated, avoid constant moisture. Or paint or oil the surface before use. Then your bulrush will look good for a long time.

Frequently asked questions
Can I paint the bulrush or stick things on it? Yes. The plywood is untreated and can be painted, oiled, coloured or decorated with glued-on materials. Paints adhere directly to the surface.
Why is the edge brown? The cutout is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown rim. The edges are smooth and don't need sanding.
Do all the bulrushes look the same? The shape is identical, the wood is not. As a natural material, it shows variations in shade, fine grain patterns and occasionally small knots. Every piece is one of a kind.
How wide is the bulrush? The width depends on the height. At 10 cm high, for example, it is approx. 5 cm wide.
A wooden cutout is only the start. What counts is the moment your window picture is finished and a little piece of riverbank moves into your home. Just choose your height and quantity – and start creating.
