A club anniversary in the workshop, a rustic birthday or you simply fancy painting something with the kids. And you still need a motif that not everyone has. This wooden saw blade is a laser-cut plywood silhouette. It is untreated and ready for your paints, your craft paper and your ideas. The saw blade shape in untreated plywood suits decorating ideas around tools, crafts and making things.

What changes for you

  • You can start painting, decorating or writing on it straight away. The wood is untreated and takes paint, varnish or oil well.
  • You get exactly the size your project needs. Choose anything from 3 cm to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • Your decorations look neat and well finished. The edges are laser-cut and smooth, with no sanding needed.
  • You can also supply larger craft groups or parties with no extra effort. Sets of 10 to 100 pieces are available.
  • What you're holding is a piece of honest craftsmanship, made in Bütic's own production in Pößneck, Thuringia.

Why this wooden saw blade is useful in everyday life

A wooden saw blade brings a workshop feel to the table, the wall or the shop window. It has none of the weight or sharp teeth of a real blade. You design the motif to suit you: left natural for a rustic look, painted in bright colours or labelled with a name and date. A simple cutout becomes a decoration with a story behind it. That might be grandad with his own workbench or a craft session at nursery.

Material & finish

The silhouette is made from 3 mm plywood and is laser-cut. That gives it smooth edges and the typical brown rim with a slightly burnt look. The wood is untreated, neither varnished nor glazed. So you can paint it, oil it or stick things on it as you like. Wood is a natural material. Some pieces are lighter, some darker, and small knots and differences in the grain are normal. This makes every piece one of a kind. It is not a flaw, just natural wood.

How to use the saw blade

  • For a craftsman's birthday: write on a large saw blade and have all the guests sign it. The gift becomes a lasting keepsake on the workshop wall.
  • Crafting with children: each child paints their own small saw blade. At the end, they proudly take home a piece they made themselves.
  • For table decorations at rustic parties: lay out small saw blades as place cards or table scatter. Guests see the theme as soon as they sit down.
  • In a shop or at the market: use the wooden silhouette as a price tag or label at the counter. It shows the tool motif at a glance. It is quick to write on and quick to swap.
  • As club or company decor: add a logo or lettering and hang the saw blade as a wall sign in a workshop, joinery or clubhouse.

Good to know about the saw blade

Painted saw blades are a tradition in rural folk art. Old metal blades were retired, painted with landscapes or motifs and hung on the wall. The light wooden version picks up this idea. It has no sharp teeth and no heavy metal. Instead, it gives you a surface that is easy to paint and hang.

Care & durability

There is not much to do. Keep the untreated wood dry and away from constant moisture. That way the surface stays flat and keeps its natural look for a long time. If you want to use it outdoors, a coat of paint or oil gives the material extra protection.

  • Width selectable from 3 cm to 50 cm, in 1 cm steps

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint or decorate the saw blade? Yes. The plywood is untreated and can be painted, oiled, covered with paper or decorated in other ways.

Why does the wood have a brown edge? The silhouette is laser-cut. This creates the typical dark rim with smooth edges, which suits the rustic style of the motif.

What does the size refer to? The width of the saw blade. For example, if you choose 10 cm, the motif is 10 cm wide.

Does every piece look the same? The shape is identical. Wood is a natural material, though, and varies in shade and grain. Small knots are normal and make every piece unique.

A wooden cutout is only the start. From a raw piece of wood you make your own decoration. You paint it, write on it and give it a story. Simply choose your size and quantity and get started.
