The craft table is set and the paints are ready. All that's missing is a shape that makes children's eyes light up and is easy to decorate. This wooden snake is an untreated plywood cutout. You can paint it, stick things on it or use it plain as decoration. It's made for your next crafting afternoon. With widths from 5 to 50 cm, you'll find exactly the right size for your project.

What changes for you

  • You can start straight away without any preparation. The wood is untreated and takes paint, glue or oil directly.
  • Your project always fits, whether it's a small table scatter piece or a large wall decoration. You choose the width from 5 to 50 cm in 1 cm steps.
  • You can craft with children in a relaxed way. The laser-cut edges are smooth and don't need sanding.
  • You can also kit out bigger groups without extra effort, such as a children's party, a nursery group or a shop window display. Sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces are available.
  • Your wooden snake already looks finished before you paint it. The laser cut leaves a fine brown edge that brings out the outline.

Why this wooden snake makes a difference in everyday use

A ready-made cutout takes care of the hardest part for you: sawing out the shape cleanly. You focus on the fun part – designing, painting, decorating. And the result still looks neat and consistent. Whether at the craft table at home or as decoration for a shop or window display: the clear outline means the shape is recognised at first glance.

Material & finish

The snake is laser-cut from 3 mm thick plywood and made in our own production in Pößneck, Thuringia. The laser cut creates the typical brown edge and smooth edges. They feel pleasant in your hand and won't splinter while you craft. The wood is left natural, so it is not varnished or glazed. This means paints, glue and oils adhere reliably. As a purely natural material, wood is never completely uniform. Variations in shade, fine structures in the grain and small knots are normal. They make each piece one of a kind and are not defects.

How to use the wooden snake

  • At a jungle-themed children's party: every child paints their own snake. At the end, they take home a keepsake they made themselves.
  • In a child's bedroom: choose a large snake and paint it brightly for the wall or a shelf. Your child will see their own work every day.
  • At nursery and primary school: with sets of 10, 25, 50 or 100 pieces, the whole group has the same shape in front of them. Nobody has to spend hours sawing beforehand.
  • In a shop or shop window: combine several sizes for a seasonal display. It's quick to set up and you can redesign it every year.
  • As table scatter or gift tags: stick on or tie on small snakes from 5 cm. A plain parcel becomes a lovingly decorated surprise.

Good to know about the snake

Since ancient times, the snake has been a symbol of the healing arts. The Rod of Asclepius with its coiled snake is still a sign for medicine and pharmacies today. So the shape isn't just for jungle and animal decorations. It's also a craft idea for surgeries and pharmacies, or a small gift for people working in healthcare.

Care & durability

There isn't much you need to do. Keep the untreated wooden snake dry and simply wipe off dust with a dry cloth. Avoid constant moisture, as untreated wood can warp. If you paint, varnish or oil the surface, you give the wood extra protection. The colours will also stay looking good for a long time.

Frequently asked questions

Can I paint the wooden snake or stick things on it? Yes. The plywood is untreated, so it is neither varnished nor glazed. Paints, glue and oils adhere directly to the surface.

Where does the brown edge come from? The snake is laser-cut. This creates the typical brown edge that brings out the outline. The edges are smooth and don't need any finishing.

How tall is the snake at my chosen width? As a guide: at a width of 10 cm, the height is 9 cm. Height and width increase in the same proportion.

Why don't all the cutouts look the same? Wood is a purely natural material. Variations in shade, fine structures in the grain and small knots are normal. This is exactly what makes each piece one of a kind.

Picture the moment a child proudly holds up the snake they painted themselves. Or the moment your decoration has exactly the shape you imagined. Just choose your width and quantity, and you're ready for the next crafting afternoon.
